  1. high snow quality access to the type of terrain i want to ski number of people i am likely to competing with for said terrain intelligent(ideally), or at least efficient lift layout
  2. i've called off a weekend hiking trip up a pretty gnarly peak up here in the north. didn't like the thought of being halfway up a steep snow gully when the storm hit. although now things are looking A OK. it better happen or i will be thoroughly pissed.
  3. i suppose this is the LDP's attempt to preserve their facade. it certainly would be a shame if the public were to discover the only thing on the ruling party's agenda was a near fascist nationalist reformation policy.
  4. i've just learned that eels are farmed. i figure eel farmer would be a great life pursuit.

  6. this might sound crazy, but i've always thought mini golf would be huge in japan.

CB, i saw the fried spiders too. wow.
  8. i'm canadian. we don't have accents.
  9. just curious muikabochi, did you or have you cried over this incident yet? i've heard you shouldn't.
  10. this has nothing to do with the thread, but i take issue with your name.
  11. furthermore, the laser shark, albeit pretty cool, it isn't a shark in the traditional sense now is it? it seems as though its tail would not provide adequate thrust, and the legs would do nothing but provide excess drag while swimming. now on land there is no question to the leg advantage, but that being the case there is no real need for the lasers. i mean all the legged shark would need to do would be to give the aquatic shark a good kick and things would be over. who needs the burden of a likely cumbersome laser backpack. granted we all want one, but how much do we really need one?

  16. rag-doll, until those privileged "western" governments actually implement real corporate accountability legislation, or out right boycott goods from countries with atrocious regimes people will continue to be killed for the low low prices homo consumerous needs to keep the market steadily moving upwards. governments around the world abhorred the regime of nigeria, but had no problems with shell or mobil. now granted they are taking issue with china's financial backing of the sudanese war mongers, but that is real easy to do as we consume and cast away more cell phones then ever befo
  17. not yet but they are building them. certainly are big mountains in the near vicinity.

  19. as soubs has said, jangle jungle is the best close option, but if you are willing to go a little bit further there are much better places. there is a bus to getou kogen from sendai. easily the best option for pow pow in all tohoku(last year they had the most snow in all honshu). a little bit further north is appi kogen, which is big but not that interesting. if you like the back country there is a bus directly from morioka to hachimantai. it's small but if you know what your doing it's the best in tohoku. if you don't know what your doing, don't bother with the place. yamagata zao is goo
  20. i wonder if he resigned as a result of political pressure, or on his own accord as his position does not allow him to have a historical point of view which contrasts that of the yushukan?
  21. i find it upsetting though that he has had to promise to not make remarks like this again. basically he has been forced by media (likely the hard right variety) to keep his opinion to himself and from this point forward toe the line.
  22. the funny thing about this comment is that he is in no way condoning the a-bomb, he is just taking a realistic view of history. something that is quite often hard to find here. case and point, taro aso(the FOREIGN MINISTER AND NEXT SLATED PRIME MINISTER) actually believes the USA intentionally tricked japan in bombing pearl harbor.
