  1. By the way don't fall for what DB says because he is just using you to drive him further in-the-money!
  2. Thanks TB. Very nice but a bit too 'mainstream' for my taste but I will keep it for future reference.
  3. Congrats for being in-the-money already, DB. So are we in backwardation or contango now?
  4. The markets are doing well at the moment but not really yet. I saw a TV programme a couple of years ago showing all those nice little lodges in the mountain - not very expansive but the locations and architecture were really very impressive. There was this particular one which overlooked a green valley and it was so beautiful when it rained. Should have taken down the details.
  5. Not so fast. Maybe in Easter Island next year?
  6. Does anyone know any nice lodge up in Nagano one can rent and spend a quiet weekend with GF with a bit of outdoor? Something that, you know, with a living room or private onsen that overlooks a beautiful valley and no neighbour and probably built by a poet..
  7. Stuck here waiting for the building to confirm the safety of the elevators...
  8. Well it's time to go for an early lunch.
  9. Did you? They sound like indices, not funds. How much are they charging all in?
  10. DB, did you tape this? http://media.guardian.co.uk/site/story/0,14173,1542142,00.html
  11. I think he is showing signs of desperation because this is so important to him and he probably feels he is running out of time.
  12. You are still a 'gaijin' even if you take Japanese citizenship (and can therefore vote). No?
  13. Yes, the right to vote comes with the citizenship (or 'permanent resident' in some countries), which is the usual arrangement.
  14. Quote: As if they'd let a gaijin vote... Isn't that the same in any country?
  15. http://www.guardian.co.uk/Columnists/Column/0,5673,1540683,00.html Thanks to Bush and Blair, we might not go out with a whimper after all.
  16. Surpised that it still hasn't turn into a discussion of something loose!
  17. Quote: He might just be getting pussy whipped! If that's true, it makes you wonder why great man like that ends up with a son like that. What does 'NPM' stand for then?
  18. Quote: Sarah Murdoch has stated her wish to live in Australia. Rather charming of him to give consideration to the wife's personal wish on important thing such as where to live, won't you say?
  19. Quote: (And a different kind of tragic that whatever the police do, they are going to get criticised). Someone should probably gently remind them that perhaps it is not entirely necessary to shoot someone 7 times in the head to make sure he is disable. http://www.guardian.co.uk/attackonlondon/story/0,16132,1536022,00.html
  20. Quote: It seems that some people almost want these things to happen and get some kind of perverse pleasure out of it out of their hatred for Bush/Blair etc. No, a better way would be to pretend that they won't and everything is a coincidence.
  21. Quote: Addressing my comments now to people who aren't too busy to be polite, I've read the Art of War. I don't claim to fully understand it (and I certainly didn't read the original text) but the basic tactics are just common sense. Being resolute or not is totally irrelevant. How much it is going to cost (never mind if it is going to work) is. And for what?
  22. You obviously haven't read 'The Art of War'. The aim is of course never 'to kill as many as possible'.
