Biggest in the UK apparently, though not sure what the competition is! http://www.manchestereveningnews.co.uk/news/s/1006/1006734_high_hopes_at_traffords_alp.html GREATER Manchester's giant 'real' ski slope, complete with an Alpine Village, is springing up alongside the Trafford Centre. Chill Factore, a 45-metre high complex at the side of the M60, is due to open in November - and the £31m building is quickly taking shape. The aim is to bring together ski and apres-ski under one roof, with the longest and widest real snow indoor slope in the country. Skiers and snowboa

Whats his rep like? He seemed out of his depth last night.

The Smiths are very special. I remember seeing them before they were famous here in Manchester. People knew it then. I think Meat Is Murder is my favourite Smiths album. Remember seeing them in Salford on the The Queen Is Dead tour, simply brilliant.

Magic. That will be a sight to see, then I'm looking for the final home game at the weekend - will be there

Congrats to Manchester Citeh for setting a new top flight record for the fewest home goals scored in a season ever with just 10. Their motto Manchester City: Defining Small Time Since 1976 Seriously, that outrageous act of violence should-have-been-instant-red-card along with about 5 other yellow offences by that dirty man Mr Ball (who he? yeah right) really should earn him, whoever he is, at least a 3 game ban. **** dirty get. There really needs to be a rule in the game where they can view replays and take action on clear incidents like that. It was vicious - tota

Have you climbed Mt Fuji?

Anyone got a pic from the top? -
They're building an indoor slope like that here in Manchester, just near the Trafford Centre. Opening in the autumn I think.

Gutted - I knew it would be difficult but wasn't expecting that!

Quote: Liverpool FC's heroic goalkeeper Pepe Reina was burgled on Tuesday night as he was helping send the club through to the Champions League final. The 24-year-old Spaniard saved two out of three spot kicks in a penalty shoot-out against Chelsea at Anfield. But he returned from celebrating the win in the early hours of Wednesday to find his home in Woolton, Liverpool, had been ransacked. A number of high value items and the player's Porsche Cayenne was taken. I bet that scouser got it finished in time to watch the penalties as well! Our big game tonight. Liverpool United final.

I hope it's not!!! Couldn't get tickets so it's down the pub tonight. Come on United!!!!

From a United point of view this is the order I want (want most at the top) Premier League CL FA Cup All 3 would be nice but very very difficult.

Great news: Quote: Cristiano Ronaldo has signed a new five-year contract with Premiership leaders Manchester United. Quote: A spectacularly good week for Manchester United fans got even better today when Cristiano Ronaldo signed a new five-year deal that should keep him at Old Trafford until 2012. Quote: Cristiano Ronaldo today committed his long-term future to Manchester United and immediately set his sights on landing some silverware this season. Take that Real and Barcelona.

I was there. That will be one night to remember. Brilliant performance, I hope it is a sign of the winning team of the season

Not having Scholes next week is a big blow, but we only have to win 1-0 at home to go through. It's definitely not over yet.
-
He got a good reception did Becks. He clearly still loves United Chelsea up 0-1 at half time. Boo. Not much chance of City doing the business is there really.
-
Injury list has grown but Giggsy is ok and up for it. Concern that Scholes got that silly red card the other day so he'll be out for 3 games. Really glad to see Arsenal out, but would prefer Chelsea to be out. Next round perhaps.

And here, Shaun The Sheep fans, is one full 6 minute episode: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Dhcahz3kAGY

Until now, not a thing. And I'm sitting on a rather lame number of 'quarter-miles' or whatever they really give you when you fly peasant class.
-
Shaun is a very smart sheep. They are quite funny actually. I want those guys to make some more W & G though, like the original 30 minute ones.

I really love camembert cheese. Apparently French cheesemakers are about to end using unpasteurised mile to produce camembert. Why? Recent food scares and 'overzealous' health authorities throwing around a lot of red tape. Seems to me that with pasteurisation, thermalisation or whatever they will be doing that the cheese will become something else. What do you think cheeseman?

Is this Ishihara bloke the one you have mentioned before as being a dangerous guy? >>>>>>> Kamikaze pilots hailed as forgotten war heroes TOKYO Shintaro Ishihara, the Governor of Tokyo, has mounted a publicity campaign for a film celebrating the bravery of wartime kamikaze pilots as Japan wrangles again with its Asian neighbours over Second World War history. I Go to Die for You, written by Mr Ishihara, a 74-year-old nationalist writer and politician, tells of the young men who crashed explosives-laden aircraft into US warships. Mr Ishihara, w

Are you a Snow Snob?
giggsy replied to cal's topic in Snow talk, trip reports, Japan avalanche & backcountry
I don't get the chance to see snow often, so when I go I want it to be good. Not always possible. But don't want to get too down so I try not to be snobby about the snow -
