  3. wow - thanks. A week today we're out of here - so much to get done before I leave. Looks like we will be getting a steady stream of visitors in Whistler from Japan. All welcome. Ill be working next week though so I will still be sifting around here for a wee while yet. my email is jaredandsiem at gmail dot com if you are looking to book floor space.
  4. Lucky for london they seem to be fairly crap terrorists. Imagine if they were as good at making bombs as their Spanish counterparts.
  5. Nice pics. Unfortunately Im not trying to have a Niseko vs Nagano debate. Im not qualified to participate as I have not been to one of those places. Thats also my main point - neither are you.
  6. sure did - i'm a new zealander... though i haven't been there in a while
  7. for the year 2005 I hope to do about 140 days 50 in jp 50-60 in NZ and assuming I can ski all dec (and perhaps a little of nov) 30 in Canada
  8. mabey - Im just guessing. I didnt go much as a kid only a 2 or 4 days a year. At high school I got more mabey 10 days a year. At university and a couple of years after that that went up to 30-50 days a year less some more others and Japan 50 a year or so. thats ummmm Ok maby your right lets try 440ish plus or minus 30 one year and a couple of months.
  9. a few hundred yen (3 or 5) to asahi and 7000 to NTT for phone and internet
  10. I think I got the majority of the skiing and siem took most of the park as well as a few friends with their cameras. I think I can see what shots were taken with the slightly older sony cameras - there is a different look to the picture.
  11. yep - its all go here. Now just need someone to download something from me. (someone did last night so it works)
  12. ahhh I get it, I thought that you were talking to my post and were saying that "it must be an English teaching job" because of the TESL cert requirement. anyway - mybad.
  13. I can sympathise with that - travel time (and cost) is the reason I never made it down south. Generally I dont mind what you say about Niseko, naturally everyone is entitled to their opinion but direct comparasons like "even your little areas have better trees than niseko." when you have never been there, I am going to call you on. :-) Anyway back to the cheesy website - I finally took a look at the "avalanche safty" (sic) vid. The "rules" he is talking about that you have to read "for safty" basicly say "at your own risk" which doesnt really improve the safty situation much.
  14. try "James" but some qualifications would help. Get a TESL cert at the very least.
  15. "Look I dont want to ski trees less than 30 degrees. If you can tell me where I can find these types of lines in Niseko without hiking then Im game to try. " I havent forgotten about this thread FT I just havent had time to get back to ya. I was going to get a topo map of Niseko and paint some of the many many areas greater than 30 degrees for you but I think I would be wasting my time. Im pretty sure you must have ment 35 or 40 degrees of which there are fewer. Just because another place is better doesnt make Niseko any worse. Does the existance of Alaska make Nagano bad?
  16. Im still having trouble connecting. I assume its a conflict with one of the prorams I have installed in the last couple of days so I sill try and uninstall them when I get home tonight - failing that I will restore my computer back a few days. I get an internet explorer full of "cant connect" type messages when I click on the link.
  17. Its made at long last! The premiere has been held, copies distributed to the stars and lots of beer drunk. NOW its available to you.. Your constructive critacism is appreciated so we can make the next one better...says the captain. ("We dont want any critacism" says shimba) captain stag and shimba onegaishimasu sava-san!

The with so many peaks topping up at over 3000 meters it makes the other ranges look like kiddie mountians. Capt buy landmades 1,2,3 and you will understand what the alps have to offer. That could be said if I pretended that I had been down there and told everyone how bad it was.
