  2. A new Setting Journals Feature - "A Day in The Life - 6PM-9PM", has been put online. http://www.snowjapan.com/e/features/setting-journals-24.html "Dinner has always been an important event for skiers and boarders. While some may skip breakfast to get out onto the slopes, or blow off lunch if the powder is especially good, by the time the final main meal of the day rolls around, most snow lovers are ravenous! For staff at the mountain working late in the main office, munchies inevitably make an appearance and the vending machine selling instant noodles always does a
  3. A new Feature - "Tri-Modal Challenge 2005" - has been put online. http://www.snowjapan.com/e/features/features-86.html "It was a dawn of a new era... the three families of mountain sliding putting aside their differences to attain a higher level of combined skills. From the original old school Nordic styles; The Free-Heel Telemarkers, from the surfing beginnings to today’s massive pipes came the Feared Funky Snowboarders, and from the steep high alpine slopes came the Deadly Downhill Skiers. For too long had these groups fought for territory and respect in the mountains, the
  4. A new Setting Journals Feature - "A Day in The Life - 3PM-6PM", has been put online. http://www.snowjapan.com/e/features/setting-journals-23.html "Apres Ski creates a buzz that although hard to describe, leaves a lasting impression on all those involved to the point that they usually come back for more. In my late teens, it meant pulling some beer from a knapsack along with friends and chilling them in the snow at the end of the day just above Whistler village. Once of a legal age, the same friends and I thoroughly enjoyed legitimate (for the most part anyways) Apres S
  5. 8. The settings for the member ratings was on "only show 3+ ratings", have changed that. As for the original question - it is not possible for us to change those settings.
  9. Hi. Sorry, there's no way to do that unfortunately.
  10. tsondaboy - it's a good idea, unfortunately that's not something we are able to change the settings for at the moment. Sorry! Thanks.
  11. A new Setting Journals Feature - "A Day in The Life - Noon to 3PM", has been put online. http://www.snowjapan.com/e/features/setting-journals-22.html "Lunchtime in Japan is quite the event, because everybody seems to stop to eat. Eating at 11:30 AM or 1 PM is out of the question to most - meaning a mass rush on eateries as the clock strikes noon. The lesson to be learned from this though is that to get the most out of your day out on the slopes, plan your day around doing things during shoulder periods instead of at peak times...." http://www.snowjapan.com/e/featu
  12. A new Niseko Magic Feature - "Powder Harmony", has been put online. "Niseko Hirafu has a new name. Take a deep breath - the resort now has the grandiose title of “Niseko Mountain Resort Grand Hirafu”. This identity change has been brought about by Tokyu Resort Service Co. Ltd., the company that previously ran the Kogen and Hanazono sections of Hirafu. After years of longing, Tokyu has finally secured Hirafu’s left hand side resort by purchasing the Alpen lifts together with its 130 room hotel. As a result, the whole front mountain is now under the control of one lift operator - the first
  13. A new Setting Journals Feature - "A Day in The Life - 9AM to 12PM", has been put online. http://www.snowjapan.com/e/features/setting-journals-21.html "The village is full of activity as skiers, boarders and others head towards the village station to take advantage of great weather and abundant snow out on the slopes. The resort was full overnight and pressing operational concerns have been lightened by the favorable effect such desired conditions have on guests. Up at the top of the mountain the first Gondola passengers that boarded at 8:30 AM are now off at the Gondola Pe
  14. A new Setting Journals Feature - "A Day in The Life - 3AM to 6AM", has been put online. http://www.snowjapan.com/e/features/setting-journals-20.html "The front desk at the Inn at Arai is bracing itself for a very busy morning as front staff of The Hotel Division are about to deal simultaneously with early check-ins (overnight drivers arriving from Tokyo), check-outs, baggage storage, courier service, lift passes, room cleaners, in-house enquiries as well as shuttle-bus and coach arrivals/departures. Although it is difficult to quote the busiest time for the front staff, three
  15. Quote: It's unrealistic to expect tons of people in there whenever you go. You're right, scouser, although looking at the transcripts there have been quite a lot of conversations going on over the last few weeks between people who just meet "by chance". Also looking at the records, it is often its the case that people login, find no-one, then logout within seconds (often complete with some "hey no-one here" signing-out comment). Then another person does the same a minute or two later. Then another half an hour later. Everyone missing each other. Good if you can catch someone in ther

  18. I'm not in Yuzawa, but from what I remember Yuzawa and Shiozawa decided not to join in the gappei fun. But Muikamachi and Yamata will join to become 'Minamiuonuma-shi'.
  19. A new Setting Journals Feature - "A Day in The Life - 3AM to 6AM", has been put online. http://www.snowjapan.com/e/features/setting-journals-19.html "It is a cold and clear night at the resort with all three hotels full and many day visitors expected for Sunday, February 22, 2004. A great deal has already happened at the resort during the first three hours of this day, with more activity expected over the next three leading up to the arrival of dawn. For the resort staff, some have just finished work; others are in the midst of a shift, while the rest (including this writer) wi
