  4. You're welcome. We'll try and make the point about relevant pics/images a bit clearer on the Photos pages soon. We really think the Photo section will benefit from everyone keeping things relevant in the long run. Many thanks!
  5. Quote: **I just read the rules and regulations regarding the SJ photo function and note that non-Japan and non-snow pictures are not encouraged. Andrew.SJ etc: I will use another online picture service for future 'very off topic' images. Thanks for the post BPC. Yes, as you are probably aware, we really don't want people to start using the SJ Photos section as a place to upload any non-ski/board/japan photos. The idea behind the Photos section is for it to hopefully build up into a really interesting and useful "ski/board-related" photo gallery. If it starts being littered with totally
  6. Hello Peter.... good luck with the search. --------- To your point sava: Quote: I still think that the first time message should be displayed to people when they sign up. We do try to bring that page to the attention of people who have signed up - recently also changing the welcome email message new users receive to point people in the direction of the thread. (Unfortunately the reality is that many people simply do not read FAQs/user agreement pages).
  7. SydFunnelWeb, welcome to the Forums. Just to make one important point here - the Now! reports on Snow Japan are NOT provided by the resorts.... they are written by us and it is our intention to always tell it like it is. If it's raining hard and the snow is really crap - that's what will go on the Now pages. Hope you enjoy the winter.
  8. Good find - we will put that info on the Yuzawa Now page later on. Thanks.
  9. Here is a (not very good) pic We'll try to get some better pics up by tomorrow. We're happy we how they look though.....we had some problems on the way deciding on the actual blue colour to use, but they have come out really well we think - they're nice and bright. The next test is the waterproof test!
  10. The stickers have arrived! And they look good..... we'll take some photos and get them up by tomorrow. If you've already sent us the sae/cash, we'll send your stickers out today. If you've filled out an order form, but not yet sent the sae/cash, we'll wait to hear from you! If you haven't ordered.... why not?
  11. Johns Hopkins, it seems that there actually has been some helpful posts in this thread, and sava even apologised to you in his post. If you do not like the responses to the thread, please refrain from posting provocative messages like the one above. We can all do without the flame wars. Thanks.
  12. This thread is going downhill fast, we're going to close it before it goes any further. For newcomers, please read this: http://www.snowjapanforums.com/cgi-bin/ultimatebb.cgi/topic/1/6016.html You are of course welcome to open new threads (but please none that complain about this thread being closed!) Thanks.

  18. Kokudo have announced that 3 resorts in Niigata will not be opening this year: Tsuchitaru (Yuzawa) Mikuni (Yuzawa) Ojiya Yamamoto (Ojiya) We already knew about Tsuchitaru. All of them are fairly small, Mikuni is the one that is a few km to the side of Naeba. The Ojiya is a really tiny place in Ojiya, which was pretty badly hit by the earthquake last year.
  19. We're famous for it! Seriously, let us know if you encounter any problems. (Email link at the bottom of the page).
  20. Hello. It's over in the thread on the Snow Talk forum but if you can't reduce the size within any existing software you have there are a few applications you might be able to use. Here is a freeware application at http://www.irfanview.com that reduces the size of photos. Also you could try this, jpg cruncher http://www.spinwave.com/demos.html Both of those you can download for free and use to easily make photos smaller. Hope that helps.
  21. No, they can't do that. (We have modified the Giveaway page to be clear on this point).
  22. Quote: Does Ocean actually run this site? Now we're just getting silly again. Just for the record. Again (sigh). Ocean11 has posted over 8000 times on these Forums. He's also written some stuff for the site in the past, and has at times very kindly taken the time and helped with feedback on new stuff for the site as we develop it - as have about 15 other "heavy users" (for want of a better phrase!) over the past few years. And, well, that's about it.
