did a bit of wine tasting in france myself earlier this year..... found an region between Beaune and Dijon called cote d'0r. they have some pretty killer whites. bought a few bottles back with me.... or course they have vanished now.... wasnt diciplined enough to cellar. of course we were buying them out of the caves for anywhere up to 20 euro they did get much dearer than that..... but it was like pouring silk down your throat!!! also like a beaujoulais too, a classic light red.... but there are some nasties out there! unforunately it is very difficult to come accross foreign wine here in oz.

Have been there in early dec. a few seasons ago and i was pretty impressed. only the front of the mountain was open, up to 6c, and hanozono was closed till around mid dec. i think. but sure... give it a go! -

Dont really rate french women either.... and they are very overated as far as good looks go too. spent a bit of time in france earlier this year traveling and never really saw any women that made me look twice and go schwing!! (except for the ones at the crazy horse naturally!!!)

yeah, i know mudguts... paris can be like that. been there 3 times and i too have had bad experiences there, got done for fair evasion on the subway (=40 euro), had a big black security guard in a dodgy supermarket flash his gun at us just to let us know he was watching us (very scary at the time). but you gotta admit there is something about the place.....

Burton the best?
Lama replied to danny's topic in Snow talk, trip reports, Japan avalanche & backcountry
most of my gear is burton, they have never disappointred, both clothing and riding gear, though a little expensive, at the end of the day, you do get what you pay for i think.... never had any problems with the gear... including gloves.... have had the same pair for nearly 4 seasons now! who cares about graphics guys?!?! -
Off topic - Austria F1 verdict comes in....
Lama replied to frannyo's topic in General off-topic discussions
But the problem is, $US1.0m is nothing still. They will just take it out of their $US200+ per annum budget. i agree with something2do..... bring on points docking. that is the only reason they rigged the race, that is to get the points for shuey! -
1. having to travel so far to get to the snow! 2. loser lifties/ski patrol in Australia that think they own the resort and think they can tell you what to do! 3. yeah the cost would have to be in there as well, but i do think its part of the fun, having to part with bucketloads of your hard earned to do the best thing on earth!!

Great resorts in Australia/NZ
Lama replied to becky's topic in Snow talk, trip reports, Japan avalanche & backcountry
Well i would have to pick Thredbo (nsw. Australia) As my favorite. the resort would be considered a world class one if it got more than the average 2m of snowfall a year. the terrain is definately awesome and is a wicked resort after a biiig dump (only happens once a season on average). but it is also one to leave till later in the season (aug. early sept.) when the coverage is there and you dont have to worry about troweling your shiny deck!!
