Did we cover this before? Couldn't find anything. Anyway thinking of getting some speakers for my telly and wondering what people might have. Do they really make a difference when watching a dvd? Worth it you think? Any top tips most welcome. Cheers

Eco-points - how long do I have to wait?

I was told 2-3 months. Sent off last week. -
I liked 3. And the story behind it is good to hear too.
-
Before signing up once I was told that if I paid a bit extra, even if it came back with scratches etc I was covered. Wasn't keen but then we started the "look over" the car to note current scratches. It was ridiculous, went on for ages and I though I'd never cover the whole thing. I had no choice that time as I was pushed for time, it wasn't that much, but I really felt I was done. Never used those people again

Well had a few weeks now - fab buy, I would really recommend it if anyone is looking for a decent but not expensive telly.
-
Forgot to mention. Yamada also took away 2 old tvs from me in my deal.
-
I'm never really concerned with prices once I have bought. I did check kakaku before I bought. There were a few cheaper on kakaku when I bought actually. But after you added the delivery charge and also the cost of an extended 5 year guarentee, it wasn't much difference if any. It's got a great picture BM, very pleased.

Wow what a great tv it is too. I'm impressed, can't believe it was so cheap. Made in Malaysia, by the way.
-
One more thing if anyone interested - it was in Yamada Denki.
-
Oh yes I got an extended 5 years guarantee in that lot too!

thursday, that really is souring the thread! -
I think that's about it!

I don't know thursday. I will be delivered next Friday so I'll look then!

OK bought the tv A Sony 40". KDL-40EX500. Handed over 79000 yen. Will get 26000 yen back effectively in ecopoints. So for my 53000 yen I get the telly delivered, and they take my old telly. And a 5 year guarantee. Sounds like a bargain to me!
-
That price was on rakuten. I'll be checking the same in the shops tomorrow and terrorising them with my "internet prices" printed out.
-
Zoning in on a Sony and a Panasonic. The Sony one is about 60,000 yen, 40inch, but if I get that seems I can get 23000 ecopoints/yen so effectively bringing the thing in at under 4 man. That sounds good to me. Already got an HDD recorder that I don't use any more that I can connect up. I think tomorrow will be 'buying tv day'.
-
Thanks. They all look similar in the shops. Interestingly, the Sonys seem cheaper with more spec. Hmmm. What do you do with old tellys?
-
I read that too but it seems to be more of a problem with earlier plasmas and less so now.....
-
Looking for maybe a 37 inch, possibly 42 if there's not much difference in price. Or whatever!
-
That is the question. All the jargon confuses me and I get lost in info I don't really understand. Need to get a new tv soon though coz current one isn't digital. So.... what did you get and why? Might help me a bit. Cheers.
