actually, i meant to say "markie" in my last post (and should have added, undue praise OR sarcasm, as the case may be) anyway, that sounds pretty wicked plucky. in late april i will finish working, and have about 2 weeks before i go home. in that time i want to ski fuji, but that will also leave with a lot of extra time, so this mt. iwate deal might be just what i'm looking for.

park tricks are fun, but it's more or less just for practice. its the best when you can throw that stuff into your everyday skiing. also i'm big on making jumps. you? nevertheless the park is wicked fun for me. about surfing, yeah man! i totally want to give it a go. i hear that if you even manage to get up on your first day you are doing well. are you still surfing now? that's gotta be damned cold if you are. even with a wet suit... i was in the water in nov. last year and it was freezing then. i've done a lot of windsurfing, which is also a great time, but no surfing yet. where d

k, here is a general question. have any of you budgeted a cheap trip to hokkaido and been successful? if so, how much did you budget/spend without worrying about transportation to and from hokkaido. i am figuring about 8man for 8days. think i can do it? do it more cheaply? that i'm an idiot and should go back home? i would really appreciate anyone's experience in budgeting hokkaido ski trips! thanks, dan

hey everyone, i've got a bit of a situation on my hands. i'm going to hokkado in jan (18-26) and all i have sorted out so far is a flight there (i hooked up one of 'em 1man deals) excepts that's as far as i got. i was hoping to stay with one of my japanese ski buddies who's movign up there soon, but he might be away for that time. so now i'm searching for the cheapest means of existance in hokkaido. there are several factors i have to consider: i want to ski every day (so transporation to ski hill shouldn't be too bad & i need a good lift ticket package) and i need to consider food, transp

Yo everyone, just wondering if anybody on the board has experience skiing Fuji. I read an article on this site about doing it during June, and some other info said that late april-may were generally the safest seasons to go in. Unfortunately I can't wait that long, so I was thinking about going in Decemeber, because at least it is before the coldest part of winter. I just don't know if there is enough snow to ski safely or if there is TOO much snow so that avalanches are a possibility. So does anyone know about the conditions (weather and ground) of Fuji in December? Thanks, Dan
