Carpet or flooring? In the UK most of my family's houses are carpeted but here in Japan all have laminated flooring. We have carpet in our main rooms and bedrooms. The kitchen and bathrooms are flooring. Which do you prefer?

Nice report. It can get very windy on Skyline, earlier this season I was stuck on the lift for about 20 mins in howling wind. Surprising thing is, that only from this season have the put on safety bar on it.

Naeba this weekend for the Japan Cup ski racing. Hopefully the temps don't get too high.

We have a unused rice paddy in front of our house. My nightmare is for someone to build on there and block our view of the mountains.

You book the heli skiing on the day. Book early to get the best time at mid station on the gondola.

I think you are thinking of Yanaba ski area. No shuttle buses are available but you can catch the train. About 15mins from Hakuba station. The ski area is a few minutes walk from the station. Happo park is scheduled to open on February 2nd.

yes, many of the small places can do that with what is called an owners pass. Usually at only one or sometimes two resorts. The All Mountain can be used at all the 9 resorts in Hakuba and Otari Villages. At the some of the smaller resorts it includes a lunch voucher

That sounds like the All Mountain ticket - not season passes.
