  1. Talking of DVDs from the US, just got my latest from Amazon.com - Star Trek TNG Second Season Box and Simpsons 1st Season Boxset. Smells good.....................and work perfectly on the region-free machine. Go get one! [This message has been edited by 7-11 (edited 15 May 2002).]
  2. I have nothing against them and wish them the best but as I said before, no chance. The only ? is the home support factor - which admittedly will give them a big push. But in terms if football skills - no chance.
  3. Oh too many. Places I've had the most fun in? Tokyo Gifu Nagano Yokohama
  4. NoFakie I have a region free player that I bought in Japan. I ordered it on Rakuten website - see the link below. I have bought loads of DVDs from the US AND the UK - and had no problems with any of them, except for 1 from the UK that has a kind of blurring effect at times on the picture. But other than that - no problems at all. Basically if possible I buy them from the US as they have the same NTSC system. But generally, no problems whatsoever. Make sure that you get a "region free" system that also advertises itself as being able to play PAL DVDs. I bought from
  5. Anyone else into buying DVD's? It's addictive. They're so small and shiny. Must have over 150 of the buggers now.
  6. Wish I could say different - not that I dislike it or anything - but probably Norikura Onsen.
  7. About half-half. Maybe some more Japanese friends than foreigners. You will probably find that the people living out in the countryside have more Japanese friends : it's either that or have none! I really valued that when I was living out of the city. A much better experience if you ask me.
  8. Lots of 'em. They're as loud as lots of frogs.....maybe even louder.
  9. Yeah been a bit quiet of later - real busy, but things are getting a bit quieter now. Snow bunnies...if only, so lovely
  10. Been a wierd one - superb snow until about 2 weeks ago, then it all went "spring". But back to the snow again now! So conditions should be great again.....
  11. Sad to hear that is happening in Japan. And we all thought Japan was safe and no one nicks stuff apart from umbrellas.
  12. Yuzawa had rain later on in the day, but that is now snow - 1 more day before back to the grind.
  13. I can understand your need for lodging badmigraine, but why the thicker walls? Plan on taking some horrid 80's heavy metal rock music with you and doing some head"banging"? That doesn't fit in with the nice traditional image of Nozawa then does it?
  14. I've decided to answer seriously this time. I am working as a CIR, used to study Japanese / International Relations. That was pretty serious wasn't it?!
  15. Read with interest about the people talking about Japan not having much in the way of advanced terrain like Europe/US etc. That may well be so (not too experienced in non-Japanese riding), but what about snow quality. There seems to be loads of shouting about the excellent powder on offer in Hokkaido. I have been there and it was sweet, but is it really the cream of the crop? Any international riders here care to share on the subject of Japan snow quality.
  16. For those of you guys who have been riding in many coutries - where is the most advanced terrain you know of. Would be fun to know so I can plan next season....
  17. Definitely the board is easier to pick up. First few times maybe not too cool (same with skiing), but after that fairly easy to get to a decent state.
  18. This man speaks it how it is. Maybe "skiers-rule" (sorry, but crap name....looks who's talking!!:eek was meaning more about the way fads come and go in nihonland.
