Calling all Americans - football/soccer - like it?
barok replied to a topic in General off-topic discussions
no football culture ? duh - if you don't know about it, you didn't look. more people play soccer in the US, than any other sport. it is also the fastest growing sport. it is just not compatable with the american television market (commercials every 10 min) because there are no pauses, so the tv networks keep it down. -
Which is more expensive?
barok replied to CubedOne's topic in Snow talk, trip reports, Japan avalanche & backcountry
ski equipment is way more expensive - period i would say shopping for a comparable skill level, you will pay an additional 50% for the ski gear - skis, bindings, and boots. -

As for modern music, Dancehall Reggae is good, as long as it doesn't get too cheesy. Metal is good - Metallica, Ozzy, Sabbath. Hip-Hop is great - Tribe Called Quest is #1, Dre and Snoop are good. Rock and roll has seen better days, although there are a few good bands still keepin' it real - the Strokes for one. Punk rock rules - Rancid, No Means No, OpIvy, Misfits, NoFX, (old) Bad Religion, Fugazi, Minor Threat, Me First and the Gimme Gimmes, I could go on. 99% of Electronic music is tedious beyond tedious. brain-dead music for brain-dead

I'm gettin' a new skateboard, and A square grind rail, and once I'm done skating on it, I'm going to stand it up against my picnic table, and the other end on a smaller table. and jump off the big table to get the hang of 270's to backside railslide 270 off, and probably break my teeth in the process.

most cheese, save low-fat varieties, is 80% fat. nutritious, pah ! I live in Wisconsin, and although I love the Packers and the Cheeseheads, the Cheese, Bratwurst, and Beer are the reasons that nearly everyone is bloated and unhealthy. Dairy products are unnatural, humans are the only animals that drink milk past infancy, and are the only animals that drink the milk of other animals, save the odd monkey raised by wolves or whatever. Even cats get ill when they get off milk for a while and try to get back on the wagon. lactose intolerance brutha ! down with che

thanks all. and to cal, no i've never been to japan, but i am moving to japan in september with snowboarding as the main focus. that's why i follow this board so heavily. i think it's lame to go anywhere with tons of pre- conceived ideas of what it's going to be like, but i want to learn as much as i can about the riding options. don't want to show up without a clue on where to go, etc. -
