Mogski Yes, it is a good idea and we do hope and plan to cover stuff like this. The Gear & Services page is new this season, and something that is near the top of the list of "to be developed" features. We have expanded our Snow Maps page to include data maps for snowfall, temperature, weather, cloud and wind....and also detailed daily weather reports for a number of resorts around Japan. CHECK IT OUT!

As we said, not all computer setups unfortunately will be able to log on, but we have done our very best to make it as compatible as possible. Can we ask that people send us mails at tech@skijapanguide.com concerning this issue rather than simply posting on the board. We have just spoken with the people over at snow-forecast.com and asked them about this feature. It seems that the data is for snowfall over the coming 72 hours (at the resorts on their site) and is updated every day. As we said in the previous post, expect more snow-forecast data on the pages of SJG in the next few days. [This message has been edited by Ski Japan Guide (edited 08 January 2002).]

Just to clarify our position on this....our snow depth reports come directly from the resorts themselves, and also people living and working at resorts - and on a daily basis. Snow-forecast do not have such luxuries, but do provide a great service. Look out for more from the Snow-forecast people on SJG very soon.

We bring you some sad news from GALA Yuzawa Resort this evening.... Today a young Japanese snowboarder lost his life at the resort after it seems falling head first from a jump at the snowboard park there. SJG sends on it’s condolences to the family concerned. Every year there are a few unfortunate accidents such as this at resorts around the country – be careful out there.....

Hi Mi Iwappara actually opened part of the resort yesterday with about 50cm of snow reported on the slopes. The Resort Watch page does show this....anyway, have a great time if you go there and share info about it with everyone on the Forum if you get time. Thanks Ski Japan Guide
