  1. You should head to NZ! Good skiing and defintely positions vacant to teach the locals English!
  2. Those foot rests are an added danger to the sport for tall people! I reccomend they ban the damn things before I loose the only other working knee I have! Either that or people are kind enough to say a word or two before they put the damn things down!!
  3. No more dangerous than driving your car on the road if you ask me. Besides you understand the risks if you partake in the sport.
  4. Use Salomon wool ski socks. Nice and thin, but damn warm! Best sock out. I also own a pair of Thorlo ski socks but they are a little too thick for Thermo fitted boots and usually too damn hot.
  5. Mine would have to be the Johnathons restuarant I had to camp in one night when I left the keys for my apartment at work by mistake. What a dive that was. Staff not too freindly between the hours of 2 and 6am especially when you order only the bottomless cup of coffee. You can only imagine how happy I was to go to work that day. I must admit I have never had this feeling again since.
  6. I don't know... I don't remember this place that I talk of being so tall or so old looking. Vicinity is about right though. I remember there being not much else around this area. Is this the case with Sporea? (Is that a fungus?)
  7. Okay, I have spent a good part of today trying to track down info on a hotel in the Yuzawa area on the net. As you may have guessed I have been very unsuccessful. Here's what I know about the place: 1. It is on the Kanetsu Expy side of Echigo-Yuzawa stn. 2. It is just off one of the feeder roads leading to the road that will take you to Kagura, Naeba from Yuzawa. 3. It is a rather large tawny coloured building with a big carpark out the front and not connected to a resort. 4. It has what appears to be a dining room or a pool or something facing the feeder road along its f
  8. Is there any reason why these changes are made in the height of the season? It just doesn't seem to compute. This is not a compalint more of a vote of sympathy at giving up all that riding time for the creation of more butt boils.
  9. You folks are really enjoying this aren't you! I must say I now have an even greater incentive to waste valuable company dollars on checking this site every 5 minutes just to see what other great colour combinations appear! Can we get some real lucid colours in here too?
  10. Things have gone from blue to black and now gray! You guys are quick! Or am I suffering from gradual colour blindness? Black was great! Grey background makes the white font a little hard to read. Maybe black font on grey background. Brown background, yellow font perhaps? (Too retro?)
  11. Love the quick reply! Love the visitors thingy too despite it meaning having to say bye-bye to stealth mode.
  12. Spent Xmas and NY back in NZ mourning the death of my mother just before Xmas. Funny how all the hype of both these events is just that when you lose a loved one.
  13. Not as far as I know. Only remembered then during a retro session with the rellies at Xmas.
  14. Don't know about this year yet, but I am doing my damnest to get there.
  15. Avoid Kanpachi as much as possible and it shouldn't take you long to get outta the city. 6am on Kanpachi is a bugger for trucks and cars heading out to Nagano so you may wanna get through here as quick as possible or that 10K stretch from the Shutoko to the Kanetsu IC will take over 30 mins alone. Particualry if the tunnel works are still hapening. If you live on the other side of Tokyo you do also have the option of taking the Shutoko round the other way up past Saitama to come back on the Kanetsu without going on any normal roads. Another area to watch for is the Yuzawa tunnel an
  16. I have decleared my son yeast intolerant and therefore An-pan Man will not step foot into our apartment nor will he plauge our TV screens. Nothing but hard core, retro comics care of the net or Sky for ma boy.
  17. Over the Xmas break I had a huge desire to sit and watch some episodes of "Fraggle Rock". I used to love the little dudes with the construction helmets.
  18. Staying in NZ would be the easiset way to communicate with NZ You can pretty much plug in anywhere here if you have a world wide provider like....actually none come to mind. If you are only coming on holiday find the nearest net cafe and hook in there. If you laptop has wireless capabilities and you have a credit card you can use the WiFi connections and services in most of the big name cafes here in Tokyo. You will find that broadband be much cheaper here and better quality than back home.
  19. That's the computer only arm of Bic Camera. Bic Pasokon Kan or P-Kan. I guess if you buy a new puter it is a good day outside regardless of the weather...????
