  1. If you have J proficiency Level 1 you will fly through it. Just watch for the Aural test which at 70+mins is way to long to ask someone with a hangover to concentrate. The optional Oral Exam is a bicht too! In mine I had a Bucho from JETRO doing role plays with me and he was a right a-hole! Didn't matter how I tried to take the conversation he would rebut all. In fact now that I think about it there really wasn't much in the way of productive oral testing and more, can you handle it type badgering from this oyaji. I am angry still and it was over 4 years ago! I think I need he
  2. Nice to hear the thoughts of the guys in charge, but some more secret stuff on expansion of course would've been a welcome bonus. I would be happy to offer my expertise as an avid skier to assist in the course expansion and development at Kandatsu. For a fee of course... I can be swayed to offer some freebies.
  3. Yes I agree, but at least his "radical" (for J-land) actions are making the press and showing the general public that there are other ways to do business. If only the press would start bashing away at the stayed and corrupt conglomerates that have stale oyaji's at their heads, for their complete lack of leadership and warped operational ideals! (This will never happen as long as these same companies control the press.) This livedoor issue is a classic case of the 出るくいは打たれる syndrome so prominent here in Japan. (出るくいは打たれる=The nail that sticks up will get hammered down. Literal trans
  4. If he is the new style of business man that I hope he is he has his shareholders in mind when he does his business. Unlike the other old crusty corrupt companies that stink up the Tokyo skyline!
  5. He's fighting the J beauracuracy(sp check plese!) tiger. The only thing in his way is public opinion bought on by the beauracratically(sp?) controlled press. If he continues to get the hammering that someone wants him to get I fear the public will win over his dealings and he may be reduced to having to give in. For the hope of the cahnge of J-land I want this guy to continue to do what he is doing. Shaking up the systems of the old way. And in the meantime I will go out and buy a Eng-Eng dictionary!
  6. I would defintely not be letting my kid play in the area they have designated right in the zone of this crack if it became anything more...
  7. Spoons are too formal here. In my office we use paper clips.
  8. 80cm overnight dump at Snowbird Utah in 2003! Schweet territory and snow!!!!
  9. BMW is expecting to have hydrogen powered hybrids cover 10% (it may have been 6%) of its total production units come 2010. The first production car available for purchase by consumers will roll off the line early next year. An interesting insight: The major component required to produce hydrogen is sunlight. Used somewhere in the process of breakdown or something. The largest concentration of sunny days exists in the Middle East and along the Red Sea borders. The same countries where the largest oil reserves are. The Middle East countries will be on top regardless. May even se
  10. I must admit I have been rather slack on the naked Friday rule now that it is winter, but am certainly keeping up with the other two.
  11. U must walk around Tokyo naked every Friday. U must have an onsen with the men. U must be available when you visit the zoo in Roppongi.
  12. Yes I am. Last Sat when we were there the fracture was almost the lenght of the ridge and about 1.5mts wide and as deep as the fallen snow. Kandatsu had closed off the entire area but that seemed to be all they had done. There was no-one checking for stability or sending a groomer to fill this in. Nothing. Just ropes to stop people from going. Obviously if you don't want people going there thn one would assume there is some kind of imminent danger. This you would hope would be an urgetn safety issue that should be addressed as opposed to yelling at people for not being on the co
  13. Bulbfish That area that you talk of is one of the areas I wish Kanadatsu would develop and make ridable. All they would need to do this is mark the hazards, provide a run out and place a warning sign at the top advising "ride at own risk". This area is a definte rideable area should a little control be shown from the resort and the ownous put back on the riders. It is done in many places in the world. Also, how can Kanadatsu patrol allow an huge fracture in their slope to go untouched in terms of avalanche control for so long!! If that slope went so too might the Gallery House.
  14. Yeah very anal on off course stuff. We went again last week and were yelled at for riding in the trees off to the left of the top double. Perfect lines not under the lift, just off to the left of it and we were yelled at and told to get back on course. We of course didn't. Didn't put it in the review, but Kandatsu, loosen up with in bound territory!
  15. Duct tape may not be able to fix your pregnant GF but it certainly can do alot of other exciting things with her.
  16. If that's your little digger, can I have a play on it when I am in Yuzawa next?

  21. Spritus. One shot and I was very very incoherrent. Bad stuff that can only be likened to rubbing alcohol - as in the stuff they use in hospitals to disinfect stuff.
