  1. It seems there wasn't really a problem for most people, but we changed things around a bit for other reasons as well. And you might see some more changes up there in the coming weeks. We might get it right one day.
  2. There are obviously some very strong opinions and feelings going on in this thread, but lets please keep it on the friendly side of nasty everyone. Thanks.
  3. Well, while most people were not having problems with that particular issue, it did get us thinking about a few things. There will be something going top right soon I think as well as some more top changes perhaps coming a bit later on.
  4. Tell you what annoys me is when people send us one-sentence demands/questions, like: Send me the Nozawa Onsen opening dates I want full trail maps of Niseko Hirafu sent to me by tomorrow without any kind of sign off, please, thank you, how's it going, onegai shimasu or whatever - and then don't even reply to say thanks if we do actually respond to their rude request! (Which actually we don't anymore). Top tip - if you want us to respond to you, use some basic manners/politeness!
  5. If I remember correctly: The resort used to be owned by "the village". It is now officially owned and operated by the kabushiki kaisha company called "Nozawa Onsen". If you look on their website you will see a bit of history in Japanese, the link is on this page. SJ1 would know more on that.
  6. I was about to post myself but Stuntcok covered that very well. Just to add to that Okutadami are usually closed mid-January until mid-March if I remember correctly.
  7. If you do we will soon be dealing with protesting people behind the scenes. There are some backpackers and other cheaper places in lots of the popular places on our list and it might be a good idea to contact them: http://www.snowjapan.com/e/hotel/index.html (And there will be more added from next month)
  8. It's probably best not to put your email address on the forums just in case some tinned meat-like robot/spider/whatever picks up on it. As I said, please send me an email. Thanks.
  9. Hello o avraham. I won't comment on the location but if you send me an email - address available on my profile - I will get back to you with some more info regarding estate agents in Yuzawa. Thanks. It seems that Japanese text isn't displaying properly yet. That's a real puzzler but we'll try and get on the case with that quickly.
  10. OK there was a slight difference and I don't know why, will need to work that out on a fresh day.
  11. Really thursday? That is confusing me now. I will have to compare your group/permission settings.....
  12. Oops! Sorry! It seems that we had the permissions for editing set to 0 on the Snow Talk section of the Forums. (All other sections were set as they were before... you could still edit in other areas, right?). Anyway, I have just gone and changed that setting and reset things, so it should now be ok. Thank you for pointing that out to us - if you hadn't it would have stayed like that!
  13. Let me look into that Mamabear, it might be a setting that slipped through... shouldn't have changed! Thanks
  14. Quote: I'm sure he has much better things to do than post here! Surely not! I'm shocked and saddened.
  15. Here's the thinking, for those interested: The top links are basically the main sections of the site. The right links that are there now are a few more different links of interest that didn't fit on the top. The bottom links are out of the way and that's where we put more detailed links - they are easier to ignore but still there when people want them. As yoroshiku onegai shimasu pointed out, none of them are to outside sites or paid advertising. As is often the case, we will be changing and adapting as necessary over time. I'm sure when October or November rolls roun
  16. We have a few things included in that grouping, and it helps us understand things more. Does that explain it?
  17. You're very welcome. Again, it is good to hear things like this and also get the feedback.
  18. SG I have just looked at your account and it seems that you do indeed have it turned off and they should not be appearing. Please logout, delete cache and stuff and then login again. They should not be there for you. If this doesn't fix itself please do let us know via PM/mail and we'll investigate more. Thanks
  19. Well, this is a bit of a relief actually - sorry soubs! - but it is good to get feedback on things like this and to hear about it. We want to know when strange things seem to be going on. We did a fair bit of testing and adjusting on this before we put it online but didn't count on people using browsers like that. Soubs - when you do maximise the window, it looks ok then... right? ( Can you just do it and let me know please, you can bring it back down narrow later ) Lets see how the poll goes!
  20. OK. Well, lets see how many other people are experiencing this. Feedback most welcome! Here's a poll:
  21. How about everyone else? Please let us know. [This is all going to depend on peoples screen settings and as above browser width, but when there are up to 50 registered members online for most display settings there should be little or no white space]
  22. Ahhh, I obviously totally misunderstood what you were saying in the chat box. Sorry! I thought you were implying that there weren't many people online and therefore lots of space top right and therefore the "top posters" was somehow discouraging people to post. Or something like that. (So I was confused about all that because things are actually really busy this morning) OK I see now. Well that is cramped and I doubt many people have it like that with the browser only using up maybe 60% of the screen (?). Do you always use the browser like that ie. not taking up the whole scree
