  1. Hi Alex I have turned on PMs for you, so you should be able to use them. This is directed to everyone - having permissions set to use Private Messages on these Forums does not give you permission to use Private Messages to send out sales/advertising messages to other members. Sorry, that's not part of the deal. Yesterday we had someone who thought it was just fine to go through threads on here and PM'ing multiple members with their sales info. People who do that will get their privileges taken away, without question. (While we of course do not read members Private Mess
  2. Thats good to hear zebedee. From the feedback that I have heard, it seems to do the job, so to speak. neversummer.... benefits? I suppose that would be a large number of people who are interested seeing it!
  3. We had to do that ger, we were just getting spammers signing up and quickly posting crap just to get PMs and then trying to flood people with spam/ads. Of course not everyone would do that, but unfortunately, things like this do happen a fair bit and we need to protect the Forums. Some people who were not 'spammers' as such have previously signed up with little intention of taking part, just so that they could send advertising-like PM messages. Not on, that. That's why I asked my question up top. (If someone with less than 20 posts on the Forums emails us directly to ask for PMs, we
  4. Quote: Is there any way to get around the 20 posts needed to activate the private messages or use chat box No, there isn't. And out of interest, if you do not wish to participat on the forums then why do you wish to use Private Messages?
  5. Services have been stopped because of the lack of payment - but there is an unpaid invoice for the services already provided.
  6. I thought I might post this and see what others might do in this kind of situation. Imagine that you have a 'customer' who has received services from you, but have not paid for those services. They have said that they intend to pay and will do 'this week' on quite a few occasions, but it has just dragged on and on without the payment appearing and they basically cut off communication. What do you do? This is just meant as a light-hearted look at the subject of people who don't pay!
  7. Here is the ski resorts website link, MikePow: http://sanlaiva.com/
  8. Thank you skidaisuki. There is lots to do before the season starts though, so I'm personally hoping that time doesn't fly past too quickly.
  9. Quote: It's sooooooooooo friggin convenient to just get online anytime anywhere. I hope that means that we will see a bit more commitment and regular posting from you on here from now on, thursday.
  10. Perhaps this one then http://www.snowjapan.com/e/resorts/resortdetail.php?resid=680 (doesn't seem to be open now though, we will be checking and updating all in autumn)
  11. I may be wrong, but was it Gokase Highland? http://www.snowjapan.com/e/resorts/resortdetail.php?resid=199 (I believe that resort still operates).
  12. Hello and welcome These should be a start with feedback and opinions of other people: http://www.snowjapanforums.com/ubbthreads.php/search.html http://www.snowjapan.com/e/voice/review.php and other places for info http://www.snowjapan.com/e/resorts/index.html http://www.snowjapan.com/e/japan-ski-town-guides/index.html
  13. hi sparkleygem and welcome I'm sure people will come up with some tips and stuff for you. If you haven't already tried, please check out the Search link at the top there (under the colourful buttons). Good luck with it all! PS Regarding the 'site recommendations' - we don't allow tons of links to business sites on these forums (boo! hiss!), but one place you can look is our own page here: http://www.snowjapan.com/e/resorts/jobs-available/index.html
  14. The place for the coming season is called Wind Jacket Lodge. I will check the details as you mention, thank you tripitaka. (The links seem to be working fine). As I said above, please send things like that to me by PM or mail. Thanks.
  15. It's ok. Thanks. Just checking all the other pages now. Call it one of my quirks
  16. That has been corrected. I presume you mean on the main page (that text is on 15 pages now)? Like I said please can mistakes be sent to us by PM or email rather than on here. Appreciate the help, thanks.
  17. Today we have put online a completely new 'Places to Stay' section. Details here: http://www.snowjapanforums.com/ubbthread...html#Post278294 The section: http://www.snowjapan.com/e/hotel/index.html About our 'Places to Stay' section: http://www.snowjapan.com/e/hotel/about-places-to-stay.html The main thread (above) is a 'global announcement' type thread (comments can't be posted on that kind of thread), so this thread is for any comments you might have (something I might regret...). But anyway, we are today going to be checking everything once again carefully b
  18. As you probably know, our Places to Stay section is basically an introduction to accommodation (none in Tokyo though), not a booking system. The contacts on those pages are mostly direct to the hotel (with some being the people taking on the responsibility of English-language bookings on behalf of the accommodation). Tomorrow will see some fairly major updates to that section of SnowJapan when we will be explaining a bit more about that section.
  19. I will take the bait only once (this once). Quote: To the moderator it seems that varied and somewhat differing opinion is not what you are seeking but a specific generic character that likens the rules on your forum to doing business in small country towns in Japan. Ludicrous. Just a quick look around these forums will not only reveal a huge amount of 'varied and somewhat differing opinion' but also a wide range of very differing characters from all over the world. Do we welcome trolls, trouble-makers, idiots and advertisers on these Forums? No, we don't. What we ar
  20. Thanks Cambo and welcome. Probably best to ask that question in another thread as it might get missed here. If you didn't already see it, check the Search function on the Forums (top right part of the page in the blue horizontal menu area). That should bring up a lot of information on the Forums. Thanks
  21. Drop Inn - if you really think these Forums are 'shit', then why are you here? The best idea is to perhaps just not post on here rather than coming here to post such comments. (Apologies if I misunderstood your comment). Thanks.
