Bought an avalanche beacon at the end of April (season was already over having dislocated and fractured my wrist) on the day I got out of hospital after the operation to put bolts in my wrist. Tubby, look out for any sales at Shugakuso. It's an outdoor store invade you don't know and love the place already. The one in Shiroishi is the better of them.

Entrance started today for the Sapporo Marathon (Oct 5th). Only a half marathon mind u, so no need to apply if u are keen to run a full marathon! I entered. Ends on Friday I think?! Best get on it quick if interested!!

Niseko has free shuttle buses connecting Annupuri > Higashiyama > Hirafu > Hanazono. There is a free bus to Rusutsu Resort (year round) so long as u make a reservation the day before. Then, there are bus packs to just about every resort which, when u work out the cost of the day pass u usually get included in the pack, the bus is free. Is there a free shuttle bus service between Rusutsu and Niseko?
