  1. looking to buy a beacon this season... any advice? whats a good beacon to buy? where can i get it cheap?
  2. just got a new board, Burton Fish, and wondering how long everyone usually leaves their wax on for the first wax of the season? how about the first wax when you get a new board? does it make any difference? i usually leave my wax on for about 8 hours and then scrape it off. please advise me, i dont wanna mess up my new board before the snow has even fallen!!! thanks in advance
  3. he told me he gets his skaeboards from Pro`s in the US and shapes them himself, he also showed me a snowboard that he shaped himself! maybe he told me ¥2000 a day because i told him i have a dog just like his! was his dog in the shop when u went? 8pm until the following night, 8pm.
  4. according to the guy in the shop near Seiyu (its prob not Sams Bikes, its a wierd place...longboards, snowboards and guitars!!) Moss are great for side country and the such and have a couple of models that are good for backcountry. He said he works as a guide at the Gentem shop in Nisekko in winter! I rode a friends Moss board once....fun board.
  5. Murasaki Sports (Pivot building on the main road from JR Sapporo station). 7th Street Cafe (if thats the name....walk my dog past there most weekends!!!) is expensive and only have Salomon and Yonex boards, not sure about boots! theres a small show in maruyama near Seiyu, not sure of name but sign says "Sams Bikes" above it. Can rent Moss boards for ¥2,000 a day there!! there's a shop in Tanuki Koji, nearest end to Sapporo TV Tower. Try Xebio Dome, Shin Sapporo have one and there is a huge one with a waterfall inside, it's near to Fukuzumi (Sapporo Dome). Also, Sapporo Fact
  6. Would love to but can`t afford to....buying a Fish, snowshoes, beacon, etc... 40 days until Rusutsu opens.... 28 days until Onze opens.....
  7. Also, slap bang in the middle of the snow festival....expect BUSY buses and resorts that week!!! The Kokusai bus (the earlier one going through Park Hotel, Maruyama, Kotoni) gets you to the slopes just after 9am....slopes open 8:45am But the obvious fix to all of this would be...stay at a resort for a night or two or week! Rusutsu is cheap (if u stay in the North Wing!!) or some small hotel in Niseko....
  8. Your hotel is quite a way away from Teine! You can get there by train (first, subway/taxi/long walk to train station) and then a connecting bus, take a while though, money will add up too. Have you thought about going to Sapporo Kokusai resort? Bus and lift ticket (paid for on the bus) is around ¥5,000 for the day. Takes about 50mins to get there and stops fairly close to your hotel (Park hotel or Nakajima Koen prob closest) There might be a rental discount ticket too (never inquired though). Kiroro Snow World has a bus/lift ticket pack too, about the same price as Kokusai and an extra 30min
