Warm hands and feet!

Quality socks are a must. Boots and socks are the two most important things you can't skimp on. Get some liners for your gloves/mittens. -
All the complaints sound like they are taken strait from "an idiot abroad".

Time to think about goggles
Dunga replied to kkk's topic in Snow talk, trip reports, Japan avalanche & backcountry
I've got two pairs of Oakley crowbars, a low light hi-yellow pair and a dark mirrored pair for sunny days. Picked them up on an end of year sale online from the US. Have only had one pair fog up in 3 years and that was when it dumped 30mm of rain during the day. I don't think there would be many goggles out there that would stop fogging at that point. Dried them out overnight and have been fog free since then. As everyone else has stated try them on instore to find the best fit with and without your helmet. Has anyone tried out the new Oakley interchangeable lenses, or the new gogg -
Going solo to niseko

No I haven't spent that much time in Japan (total 6 weeks), but of the time I've been there 75% of my time has been spent elsewhere. -

Niseko, the only place in Japan where you will see a fight outside of a sumo ring. -
What is "JALT"? And what is "SIG's"? Acronyms are the bane of my existence.

At the start of the season they use the snow guns all the time to try and build a base. Towards the end of the season they tend to let Mother Nature dictate what's going on. This season was warm which didn't allow snow making, and then before each snow event they had large rain events which tended to wash away any base they had.

Most new "smart" TVs can do this without the Apple TV now.

Anyone got some good recommendations for gloves/mits? Just wore a hole through my leather/gortex dakine ones. I want some that will be warm for Hokkaido pow, last time my fingers froze... -

Just cruising the interweaves and came across some similar sites across the world... The Nara dreamland looks spooky. -
Accidentally taken. Then returned to a totally different store to where the person who took the skis got their hire gear from. Such a weird occurance. The girl who's skis were taken spent a fair bit of Saturday and Sunday crying. It was her first pair of skis and she had already planned for trips to Japan and other snow related places. To add injury to insult (whilst skiing on hire gear), she was taken out by a rogue teenager on the Sunday and hurt her back. Main thing is that she got her skis back.

Crows stole their food? Sounds like something from game of thrones... Got up to falls creek again. Notes; - 10cms of fresh dry pow on Saturday morning! :-) - Saturday afternoon, rotten driving rain which froze to you like sheets of ice... Horrible afternoon, possibly the worst arvo I've had after a great morning... - Saturday afternoon après drinks were fun at stingrays, on a sour note, spent the late afternoon/ early evening at the resort management and police. Some fine soul took a brand new set of skis (3rd day of use). Really was the worst Saturday afternoon... - Sunday morning
