  1. Been recommended the " niseko adventure centre" for a couple of back country tours whilst in annupuri , any thoughts on these guys welcome

  7. mike, just had my MTB course cancelled in north wales due to big snowfall, hope that means a shed load more snow in the beacons , and you may just get those first turns this week end . great pics

  12. "Gary" cheers for the pointers , but I have realised I will need some guiding to find some good stuff, and so would like to find some recommendations for a suitable local guide . Just would like a day away from the piste to warm up for our second week in niseko.

Have now sorted out all the logistics of how to get to from and around during our trip to hakuba/toyko/niseko, so am looking for a couple of recommendations for an instructor/guide for a couple of days in hakuba, I am staying in happo-one and would like to find someone to introduce me to the side-country terrian around there ??
  14. Been looking for the right set of powder skis for my trip to Japan, and finally found them in the sale rail at the London ski show !!!!!! http://www.powdermag.com/buyers-guide-2011/2011-kastle-mx108-skis-hugo-harrisson-pro-model/ These now make a perfect pair with my mx88's !!!!!

  18. have a look at the hotel montanna in oberlech , run by an olympic downhill gold medalist , great food and top location
  19. panhead_pete , most helpful, think one way each is the way to go, a few folk have said kyoto is a real good option , and would love to see hiroshima too, lots of planning to get on with now :-) cheers, back with loads more questions soon !!
  20. Thanks for the transportation advice , think I will take the bullet train option and get picked up at Nagano . Any info on the guiding/instruction options in happo and niseko ??? Also where's the best off piste , side country options at happo-one ????
  21. lech is an excellent choice , from there you can ski st anton easily, have a look at accomadation in oberlech, which is a wonderful ski in ski out option, with a cable car link to the main town
