A little clarification on the situation. We were staying at the Vale, so for our very lazy soul we thought the NBS is the closest place to pick up our rentals. The rental bookings for 4 persons was made through the Vale. When we arrival at the front desk, none of my booking was in their computer & I have to run back to the room to pickup my booking sheet with the Vale to proof to NBS that the booking was made & fully paid for. I had one of the worst experience with the equipment rental company located at the ground floor of the Alpen Ridge. 2 years in a role they have spend hours trying to find my booking records. Finally they fixed up my friends with boards & boots a few minute later and find the binding broken at the toe strap up in the mountain. Then again, spend another 30 mins to have them exchange. I swear, next year I will go to the rhythm snow sport opposite the Vale to rent equipment for my friends.

Today really feels like April (with rain) here in Niseko. So we decided to take a day off from snowboarding & headed down to Otaru.

Will take some pics of the Vale when I get there on the sunday afternoon.

According to the most up to date JMA seasonal forecast, most of the area don't look too good in terms of average temp & snowfall. I'll hoped that Niseko will delivery some thing special again!!

The next big snowfall in Niseko will be starting on 21st until 28th. Because I'll be there.!!

Well, I guess with be finger cross for the last week of Feb when I arrive on the 21st.

The kid was a little disappointed last year..... Hopefully, this year would be a better one for her So how accurate is the seasonal forecast..!?

Because my kid is coming with me, so a little bit snow would cheer her up..!! Is not the matter of skiing or snowboarding skill.

Because last year was a pretty disappointed trip. Just a few snow dusting during my week stayed. So this year I was really excited to learn there are around 4 meter up top. When I see the forecast changed from an above average (snowfall) to a below average. Then I was disappointed.

The latest seasonal forecast has been updated at the JMA. The snowfall chart (6th February - 5th March) show a 40% probability below average. The average temp (20th February - 5th March) show a 40% above normal in Hokkaido. Hey people, what all these 100%, 105%, 300% or 40% - 50% about..!?

The seasonal forecast for Hokkaido showed that there are 50% probability that the average temp will be below normal (cold) & 50% probability that the snowfall will above normal (heavy snowfall). How accurate are these forecasts..??
