  1. Hi SJ's Quick report and some Photos from the last 4 days. Flew into Hokkaido on the Sunday 3 hour bus sleep with 15 others fast check (Hilton) in gear was in the room and hit the slopes under 1 hour. Great start! By far the best visibility day of the trip, sun was out the powder was great , but quite carved up as we missed the morning session. Mountain View from the room (14th floor) I was very happy with the Hilton (deal through JAL-Tours) Gondola and ease of getting going each morning was great (ill write a review soon). Into the gondola and up the mountain

I very much dislike skiing on-piste! You can, but not recommended there, (and is marked out of bounds) down a little further there are some nice tight tree runs, The top of the mountain (Yamabiko) has a lot of area for off piste, and even after 2 days i could see fresh runs all over,

For some reason people don't head down there first thing in the morning, (it leads to 3 very fun Blacks and 2 nice Reds ) but takes a while to get back up to the top. both of these shots are around the middle mark. It starts windy and a little narrow, then these two slopes, (you need to carry speed to get through the flats) then it gets steeper towards the end, then prob the steepest run in Nozawa if you head down Mukoubayashi you don't finish at a lift , s

If you hit those walls at speed (some of them are 5ft-6ft)yes you will take off... on the other side you have some VERY steep drops, do a scouting run first

  11. Nozawa-onsen a great place if you don't like those big resorts. off piste, skyline Left Shinjuku, Friday night to allow the early start Saturday-morning....good plan on paper. Heavy snow from 20:00 onwards, made for very slow travel, the trip took just on 5 hours It managed to snow about 70% of the weekend. Saturday, saw the Gondoras open just over an hour late as we were told conditions were "not ideal" poor vis and grooming was taking a long time...... 10:30 saw us finally 2/3rd up and with 10cm of fresh pow on the runs groomed that morning, the un-groomed runs
  12. awesome, I never really explored, Same place for Breakfast and Dinner, with Lunch below the Gondola everyday, ill make sure i get out and about next time. I guess if the night skiing was open i would have had dinner in the tower. p.s Thanks for the prompt reply
  13. I witnessed a biggish guy getting stuck in some pow with similar pants to those.. (cept very bright purple) he could not walk through knee deep pow as his crotch was bottoming out... he ended up swimming out, maybe not the most practical, i think he will stick to the park from now on.
  14. Hi Thursday, I wrote the review before you , i went to Tomamu early Dec, None of the Ice village was completed, and the runs near the Towers were not open at this time, i think you went at a great time, being the only person in the whole pool area was interesting. I managed to get seats on the train both ways , it was so fast and simple i hope to head back in Feb. Can you tell me was everything open when you went late dec? and how was the food in the tower area ( i was staying over near the pool)
  15. I broke my iPhone last week by landing on it, was in a shock proof case, landed chest first on a groomer at speed and cracked 2 ribs. so be careful where u put it in your jacket! brought myself a shuffle
