  2. That's my type of place...love Sapporo. Not too much selection in the states.
  3. True, and we did beat them 2-0. I just don't see Spain choking this year.
  4. Very true, thanks globalization! Any recommendations on places to visit that involve some cultural endowment that I may be welcomed to? Thanks Rob.
  5. Okay, I have a few Japanese friends here and just have heard mixed stories. I found it surprisingly easy to meet people in Europe and North Africa. Was just hoping I wouldn't be shunned for my nationality

  8. Who will beat them? Brazil, probably not. England, no way...Spain is too strong up front. France, maybe but I highly doubt it. They do have some speed up front but I think Spain's back is well prepared. Germany if they can get their act together has a chance. Italy is too old. I just see the odds way in Spain's favor.
  9. I wanted to see Ireland upset France. Oh well, Spain is going to win 2010 no doubt.

I have known people to do t hat to keep mud buildup off of mountain bikes and motocross motorcycles. Be careful with the silicone, since it may be incompatible with certain synthetics or finishes. I would definitely recommend this. I used cooking spray once in the early season when there is that m
  12. I guess I fit in the not usually category then. I really don't have much to prove via internet But really is it hard to meet people both guys and girls in bars and such if you don't speak a ton of Japanse?

Yeah we get a lot of bad rap, but in a certain aspect, beyond the assumption of our problematic educational system, there is a large underlying population of educated young people. I think once the baby boomers stop running our country, you will see

Look what happened to John Winston Howard - even the party leader can lose their seat if they stuff up often enough. Well the issue is not with our system so to speak. Sure the electoral college may be a bit impartial to someone more qualified, but i
  15. Oh god. It discouraged me deeply when I heard that Miss California's hero was Sarah Palin. Seriously made me cringe. She also doesn't think any tax dollars should be used for welfare! Great.
  16. That's what I have heard, I am sure Hokkaido has quite the mix of nationalities in the resort areas. I would really like to learn about Japanese culture though and I am guessing that would be hard to do while living at staff housing at a resort. Plus I am not too too worried about the girls. I usually manage Plus everyone seems to like us now that Obama is elected.
  17. Alaska is beautiful. I went in the summer (June to be exact) and it was just amazing. It was light until 3 am then the sun went down for an hour and it got bright again. Salmon were spawning and such. It really is the last Frontier. As for me I want to go to India, Beijing, and Tokyo.
  18. Really that bad in Japan? You should be heading to WA or OR right now. They are crazy with the amount of snow. UT will be catching up soon.
  19. Hey so I searched and couldn't find this thread but I am sure this stuff has been asked. How welcoming are people on Hokkaido and Sapporo to Americans in general? I have heard that girls generally like foreigners haha. Wasn't sure if this is true, but I have heard the beer is good too. I am trying to move to Japan at the end of next summer. I was just wondering what stereotypes were true in your experience and what wasn't.
  20. Thanks Mike, yeah I have skied here for 3 years and know it pretty well. There is some gnarly stuff and I have gained a lot of backcountry experience. Do they bomb resorts in Japan as much as they do here? I am still a noob when it comes to the Japanese snow scene. Also, how hard was it to get a visa for you or to get out to Japan?
  21. That's a pretty cool site. Are there any ideas of how much a little house like the one in that site would cost in a medium area of land value in Hokkaido?
  22. Ah that's really helpful in terms of visioning what the areas are. Actually going to ski wolverine tomorrow. Is the snow comparable as everyone says?
