Before you sell your Hero2 make sure that you dont have to upgrade your pc for the Hero3. My pc would struggle with that quaility at the moment. PS how much for your hero 2?

One school in Hakuba Minami Sho has its own gelende and rope tow. The PTA grooms and runs the lift. The Teacher and the PTA teach skiing in PE class. KIta sho has a ski jump 20meters they teach ski jumping from grade 4. The school has ski days but not many. The different grades all go to different resorts to allow for balance. Same goes for the JHS the 3 grades go to 3 different resorts. The kids all can buy discounted passes from the local government. They are super cheap and cover every resort in town. In Hakuba you can choose which ski club to join usually it is the closest to your house. The Iwatake program has a Kiwi guy instructing a bit less than before but their club is considered quite fun.

The kids really enjoy it and even set up jumps etc. I think if you live at the snow full time you see the allure of a sport like cross country.

Cross country is a PE program in Hakuba elementary schools. I think the same could be said at other sn areas. They set a track on the school grounds for the kids.

How do the resorts divide the money. Answer electronic tickets. They show the use, or the percentage of how much a guest uses one companies lifts, over another companies lifts. Im sure a few other places got some snow today. The North Alps are reports 5 to 10 cms at elevation. Any other places in Japan reporting snow today I think there should be!

Should pass prices rise sure if the resort raises prices then the pass price should go up. The idea of a seasons pass is to secure revenue before going into the season, so as not to bleed money right off the start. I want to see the resorts thrive and right now we are in a price war. Nobody is happy with prices going up but something has to give. You cant just give things away. The prices have not increased for years. Raising the price a few yen may drive a few people away but the extra revenue will out way that decrease in skiers.

The average ticket price is too low to sustain the ski resorts as they are. Rising Fuel costs, insurance and depreciation of the lifts. Prices have to rise or else you may loose a resort that you like.

When resorts arent making money then prices need to rise.

No information on the ground here. Ticket prices need to go up not down. Japan has some of the cheapest skiing in the world. Bascially Tokyu owned the middle of the resort so they are the only lifts open for 4 seasons. This doesnt change the fact that Happo still has many share holders and the voting rights are the same from what I know. Dont expect much to change at least not now with 2 to 3 months to go before lifts may start.
