The last few days here in Niseko have been truly amazing! 3 days ago i thought well - this is as good as it gets and then the next 2 days have pretty much been exactly the same - overcast with heaps of snow. No idea exactly how much but i found a few spots yesterday where it was over head for me and i am a snowboarder ! This morning i booted straight over to Hanazono with Tom and we had ourselves a classic mushroom feast. In my opinion the only element missing was some sunshine...but when the pow is this good who cares. POW !!!

Mammabear NO !!! Cold today so figure maybe your wax was the wrong type - i haven't waxed my board since the start of the season...hmm take your board to Bon Tak, in the portable sheds opposite Yotei Tracks and see if he can help. I rode a standard all mountain board today. General tip for the deep stuff ...don't turn much until you have some speed. Blue bird proof

After a while off the Mountain decided to try some back country fun and headed out to Iwaonuppuri. The weather was ok on the way up with patches of sunshine and the snow was ok in some areas and very wind affected in others but great to be out on the mountain hiking. As we ascended the weather turned - super windy white out conditions. Descending from the peak was a case of picking your way down and with the white out conditions was pretty disorientating. After the first pitch the visibility improved and we were able to lean into our turns a bit more. The final pi

Hey Jimmer - bet Kiroro was sweet. Hirafu was nice but i spent so much time waiting in lift lines. Check out the nightmare at Alpen this morning. Back view Clouds rolled in around 9 ish - the single chair opened and people thought the peak was on but alas not yet just gate 4 and another mega line - will be interesting to see if the resort plan on making any improvements to lifts for next season... improvements...pretty please

Left Hirafu Sat afternoon new years day hazy and hungover and got back tonight - Woah. Took a drive up to the welcome center and it was pretty funny - look like any car that had been parked there over night was smashed. Yeah thought it was really funny until i got back home and saw (well i actually couldn't see) my car park. Tomorrow should be interesting - not that cold right now...we'll see what the POW is like soon enough.

I'd like to see the best snow scooter in the world ride just like i'd like to see the best player of the spoons lay it down ! BTW the storm has kicked in here in Niseko - snow blowing sideways and looks like the on mountain new years festivities will be canceled after all. Don't quote me on that though.
