  1. Well.....so far in this life of mine I've....earned my.. stripes, keep, chops, wings, scars, living, some people's trust, and salt... "Earning my turns" needs much, much further attention..

  5. There's another one on tonight......really, it's all getting a bit ridiculous.. I'm glad I have you guys here to vent about it. My wife just shuts me down the second I bring it up.
  6. I'm going to have a zippy Zimmer..... edit...Damn picture won't show up...
  7. Yes....they basically just say...."don't shoot the messenger". There are a number of companies I order from who don't put the value or receipt in the box. I never get charged with them. Just last week I put in an order with a different supplier and forgot to ask for an electronic receipt only. I got hammered with a 4500 yen customs charge. I don't know if that's different than the DHL fee or not as I've never encountered that.
  8. Pretty tough (actually impossible) to do Rucky as Tubby points out. The parking space thing isn't required for k cars but even with that break..... next to impossible for registration and insurance.
  9. Especially dudes hunkered over their bowl of ramen....snortin, gasping, sucking, sighing, .....a little slurping is fine but, come on...
  10. It's a beauty in Shizuoka. Fuji looks lovely with the first decent white cap of the season.
  11. None of them do US who are living here any justice, either. Most need a good slap..
  12. Ya..I suspect Fuji will get a dusting of snow today. First day in a long time in long sleeves..
  13. I've taken the ferries A LOT over the years. Here are a few tips. Take the Pacific side ferries in the winter and the Japan Sea side in the summer. Taking the Nihon Kai in the winter is dirt cheap and there's a reason....It's a $hit ride. The two times I took it from Otaru to Niigata it was so rough you couldn't stand up and 14 or 15 hours when you're sea sick is like an eternity. I think I'd almost rather be waterboarded or have my fingernails pulled out. Most of our trips are from Oowarai in Ibaraki to Tomakomai. It takes about 20 hours leaving at 7pm and arriving in the afternoon
  14. My favorite program is on......NHK dude with helmet reporting on umbrellas "moving" in the wind..
  15. You and me both Big Al... When you have a bit of free time check out the expeditionportal site for other folks living the dream. I go there to drool and fantasize....
  16. Snowdude.. That trailer probably has more lift and clearance than the 200.... SnowJunky might just have the opposite problem of too much weight on the tongue.
