  1. oh, I'm not asking for a go! I more meant that I could have a guess at one, and if correct say, hey, you post something because I'm not near the Internet for a while
  2. yes, definite plus one to that. you get more bang for buck, and something unique. my Hakuba trip was done through an agent, as it was with a few mates, and that was convenient at the time. While we had an absolute blast, in hindsight we could have done better with our accommodation (it was basically a hostel advertised as a mansion), and I wouldn't go through an agent again. (going in January and all organised myself). I will say, in an agents defence though, it was a great introduction to Japan, with minimal hassle.
  3. going to agree with 'anything' here, you should have no problem organising a good value trip with some of the best snow there is (which will blow your mind after NZ) Look at Niseko (Hokkaido) if you aren't in it for the cultural experience, or the super steep runs. It's got a lot of western influence, so the language barrier should be pretty minimal. Then there is also Hakuba (Honshu) which is also pretty westernised, but not to the same extent as Niseko form what I can gather (i've not been to Niseko yet, only Hakuba). I suggest those two as first suggestions, as there is no short
  4. and so it begins.. the cycle of being one guess behind. This donating turns concept is a good one though, there's been a few I'm confident I could have guessed, but didn't due to not having the time to post a picture and check for answers!
  5. I do remember reading that somewhere (maybe on here). Hmm...well maybe I'll just hold out for the 13-14 season then I was looking for a place to get my powder fix when I come back in April/May. Thanks for the info! I wouldn't let it turn you off, aus skiing might not have the snow quality, or the fall of the northern hemisphere resorts, but resorts like Perisher and Thredbo have really good facilities including snowmaking, and for a resort where there is only a few hundred metres of fall, there is quite a large skiable terrain. I wouldn't quite put it there for your 'powder fi
  6. Not Nozawa, however snowjunky is correct, it is Washigatake. Figured the distinct building would give it away for someone. Over to you Snowjunky
  7. hehe this one should be easy (for someone), I will upload it now and post here soon... OK, here it is.

  9. I only put lines down at Tsugaike for one day, and it was puking snow all day, visibility was <50m most of the time. so I would have no clue what it looks like! I just remember a lot of music from the lift towers, and a lot of snow. A LOT of snow.
  10. I thought the same thing, did look very similar to a part of 47 from memory.
  11. OK a new one, and i'm sure the name is not in the picture this time..
  12. I had to work hard for that one, I want to find a better picture

  14. man. you could have waited more than a minute... i guess that must have been easy! over to you then
  15. OK, a new one for you all. I don't know what's on that sign, so hopefully it isn't a give away!!
  16. Yeah, it would be great to meet up with a fellow SJ'er for a ski, just the missus and I going, she's fairly beginner so i might be laying a few tracks on my own at times. oh. I'm down on the first page for niseko as FamiliaGTX (I changed my SJ name to something that wasn't a car I had 4-5 years ago)
  17. I think that is in Oyama national park in Tottori prefecture. not sure of the ski resort name, maybe this one? http://www.snowjapan.com/e/resorts/resort_map.php?resortNo=188 Daisen white resort.
  18. As much as I dislike using iTunes, attack of lanina can be found on iTunes (at least in JP), I just got 'we' a collection of individuals last week in HD from iTunes as well. Yeah I avoid itunes like the plague, I own zero apple products and plan to steer clear of their ecosystem. It is annoying that a lot of movies are hard to get elsewhere though. I got my blu-ray of 'we' a collection of individuals yesterday, watched half of it last night. Really awesome movie, I think the footage is better than attack of la nina, but the music is a bit 'meh' so far. I did manage to find attac
