The latest Shiga Kogen Now report can be found here . Feels cold early on this morning and light snow is falling; heavier in some places (hello Okushiga). Early morning, Yakebitaiyama were reporting 20cm of fresh snowfall; Kumanoyu are reporting 5cm. I have measured 5-10cm at my multiple points around Ichinose. My report this morning is too early for many of the ski area updates. It is a bit windy out there this morning, and some lifts may well be affected by that. Calmer, clearer and milder weather is forecast for tomorrow and Tuesday. The information below is manually checked with official sources and updated for every report. (There is more snow since yesterday. Yakebitaiyama and Kumanoyu are both reporting 20cm early this morning. I measured 14cm. Beautiful and a great day to be out skiing or snowboarding. Tomorrow should be nice too, good weather for the national holiday visitors. The latest Shiga Kogen Now report can be found here . It's a mid-winter morning with heavy snow, blowing wind, cold temps and limited to poor visibility. Not very friendly conditions out there, but this storm is bringing us a lot of snow and a complete reset. Some lifts are on hold at the start of the day due to the weather conditions. At 8am, Yakebitaiyama were reporting about 40cm of new snowfall at base (since last night) with over 50cm higher up. (They were reporting 40cm in the middle of the night, but it's unclear how those line up due to heavy snow since then). A lot. Kumanoyu are also reporting 40cm. If we get sun tomorrow like forecasts show, should be amazing. Not a whole lot just yet - Yakebitaiyama were reporting 3cm very early morning, Kumanoyu are reporting 5cm as if 7am. I have measured 4cm. It is colder too. We should be getting more snow today and tomorrow, the heaviest due tonight. So hopefully tomorrow there will be a good new layer to report. The latest Shiga Kogen Now report can be found here . In the middle of the night Yakebitaiyama were reporting 10cm of fresh snowfall, and as of 7am Kumanoyu are reporting another 5cm. It's really nice light snow too and going to be fun out there today. It is still snowing - quite heavily right now - but that is not forecast to continue for long. If we are lucky we might get some sun later on (even if that feels unlikely just at the moment). Sun is expected from the start of tomorrow. Should be very fine conditions at the moment. Just to be sure, I'm going to get out there and check. Just have to decide where to go. The latest Shiga Kogen Now report can be found here . It is a real mid-winter morning here. Cold, snow, wind. Lots of snow too. My friend who sometimes gets overexcited with his numbers exclaims 'maybe even 100cm'! It's not that much - certainly not that I can see - but Yakebitaiyama are reporting 80cm of snowfall since yesterday morning (39cm of that from 4pm yesterday evening). Kumanoyu in the southern area of Shiga Kogen is reporting 30cm. And in my usual measuring points (main one near Ichinose), I have measured 44cm as of 9am. Wind is a factor and there is, of course, no definitive number. But whatever number or measurement you take, bottom line is that we have a lot of fresh new snowfall, and it is still snowing. Quite heavily at times as well. That also means that visibility is limited. We are probably going to get snow during the day today easing off perhaps by tonight. And we might get some sun tomorrow morning (and probably sun on Friday). Should be great! The latest Shiga Kogen Now report can be found here . It is noticeably colder this morning and we have snow falling again. There's not massive amounts of fresh snow, with 5-10cm in some places - both Kumanoyu and Yakebitaitama (as of 3am) - are reporting 5cm earlier this morning. Snow due today, tonight and tomorrow so fingers crossed we get a full-reset amount. I'll let you know. By the way, I am aware that the snow depth numbers below have hardly changed in recent days. I do check them, honest! (That is why I am aware that they don't change much). The latest Shiga Kogen Now report can be found here . We have had light snow falling early this morning but that seems to have eased off and there is sun breaking through clouds in places. Yakebitaiyama were reporting 15cm of snowfall early morning and Kumanoyu are also reporting 15cm. It's not top level Shiga Kogen-quality snow, due to the milder temperatures we have been having. Still, it's also not bad and of course all snow is fun. There are a fair few people arriving this morning to come and enjoy it. Look to around Tuesday/Wednesday for a drop in temperatures and some better snow quality. If forecasts are right we should get a fair amount early next week. For the moment, the relatively mild is continuing with clear skies and sun still expected during the day tomorrow. In fact, there'd a bit of sun out already in places. The latest Shiga Kogen Now report can be found here . It's another windy morning, of the southerly kind, with snow falling though not much to report in terms of cm. There is likely to be disruption to some lifts this morning. Snow is due today and heavier tonight, so we might have a nice layer on the ground for the start of the weekend. The weekend should be calmer with a higher chance of clearer skies and sun too. Other reports have mentioned this but there's a promising looking cold front moving in that should arrive early in the week. That might bright some good snowfall numbers. The latest Shiga Kogen Now report can be found here . It's a windy and snowy morning here in Shiga Kogen. The only fresh snow I can see being reported by a ski area is 10cm from Kumanoyu. There is definitely varying amounts on the ground and I imagine there will be more than that over at Okushiga where it is snowing heavily just at the moment. Wind is also blowing the snow around. I measured 9cm. Not expecting too much new cm through today, though forecasts have been wrong more than a few times this year so who knows. It does look likely that there will be clear skies over the region at the weekend.
