Independent snow and weather reporting from the Shiga Kogen region of Nagano

New snowfall at base 16cm
Snowfall at base this season 74cm

Posted on Friday 22nd December 2023 This is an archived report. The latest Shiga Kogen Now report can be found here.

It is a cold morning.

And there's some snow too. Varied amounts depending on where you are, but I measured 16cm.

Yakebitaiyama ski area reports 20cm of fresh snowfall and Kumanoyu is reporting 30cm, which is good to hear.

The most so far this season, for sure.

Ski area operations seem to be unchanged early on but that might change during the day and I expect more openings to happen tomorrow. Especially if we get more snow by then (we are told to expect it). Sounds good.

The information below is manually checked with official sources and updated for every report.
