Good morning from Shiga Kogen.
The fresh snow in this report is from yesterday. In some places on mountain, there is apparently as much as 20cm of it! Wow, it almost felt like winter again for a while.
We are back to clearer skies and sunshine. In fact, it was a nice day yesterday too, making yesterday a real treat for anyone around.
Just spots of that snow still around road areas now, but it is mostly gone.
Ski area planned closing dates
Please note that in the late season, open ski areas may only offer scaled-back operations and/or may be closed on weekdays or certain days.
All the dates below are the planned dates and subject to change.
Open only on 8th/9th April and then from 29th April until 7th May (Golden Week):
- Ichinose Diamond
- Takamagahara Mammoth [100cm official snow depth]
- Terakoya
Open daily until 7th May:
- Ichinose Family [90cm official snow depth]
- Okushiga Kogen [130cm official snow depth]
- Yakebitaiyama (* closed on Wednesdays in April) [150cm official snow depth]
Open daily until 14th May:
- Kumanoyu [140cm official snow depth]
Open daily until late May:
- Shibutoge
- Yokoteyama [100cm official snow depth]
