Now this is a bit more like it. Everything is white again this morning, including the roads, and snow is continuing to fall.

Lovely morning here in Shiga Kogen, though that's not really what I want to be reporting.

Today I do bring good news - the season is underway here in Shiga Kogen.

The 2012/2013 season at Shiga Kogen is now finished, with the last lifts at Yokoteyama being the last yesterday afternoon.

Today is the last day of the busy Golden Week holidays, and it also marks the last day of the season for most of the resorts that remain open in Shiga Kogen.

Ah, Golden Week. Always seems to sign off the season (apart from the Yokoteyama area) and mark the beginning of spring proper in Shiga Kogen.

It's snowing! And there has been 10cm or so of new snowfall in places as well.

It's all very limited this morning. Strong winds are seeing to that.

A chilly morning though not as much as yesterday. It was a foggy start again earlier on but has cleared up since then leaving us with a more cloudy and overcast morning - grey skies all round.

Another cold start to the day today, colder than yesterday actually. Almost winter like temperatures again.

Fresh snowfall in Shiga Kogen overnight. Not a huge amount but enough to cover the roads - though it's quickly drying up now.

The fingers crossed thing must have worked because this morning there's 5-10cm of new snow on the ground.

As sure as my eyes can see it, there's around 20cm of new snow in Shiga Kogen this morning and it is still snowing. Instead of starting the day with temps at +9C, this morning it's -9C.
