Quick update because there's snow to report! It's not just the stuff blasted from machines, but actual real natural snow. Areas are speckled but there's a few cm in places.

It's Sunday 30th May, and it turns out that today is going to be the last day of the season for the Shibutoge lift.

Fresh snow in Golden Week! It has been really odd weather these last few days but the most important thing to say is that I can see fresh snow. And it's actually pretty cold.

We have some fresh snow! Yes, it's true. And not just a slight dusting either.

Today is going to be a warm day with temperatures well into double digits. Bright and sunny - sunglasses recommended.

None of the ski areas are reporting any cm of snow from yesterday, but it definitely snowed and I saw 3cm of it.

Another dusting+ of snow up here in Shiga Kogen but it's due to clear up and be a day of fine weather.

And there was a little snow on my car this morning. Always good to see. Just a bit, and (very) light snow is still falling.

It's a bit of a wild kind of morning.

It's one of those 'and after the storm, clearer weather' things going on this morning. After the storm that included wind, rain, sleet and was generally kind of nasty, it's nice to have a calmer morning.

Snow early this morning, and is still snowing but also showing sings of brightening up in some areas. I was just over at Okushiga Kogen.

It's a cold morning - bright too, and likely to get brighter still.

We have had more snow since yesterday and it is still snowing in places (Okushiga Kogen, I see you!) but there is some sun breaking through the clouds in the central region of Shiga Kogen now.
