There has been about 2cm of snow overnight. The resort is very windy today and temperatures are well below zero.

The weather is overcast and there are light snow flurries adding to what the snow making machines are producing.

Congratulations resort guys - they worked some magic with the machines and the bottom lift is now open for winter fun.

It's an encouraging day to wake up to with the first day of snow clearing needing to be done to get the car out.

Furano Ski Area is now closed for the season.

Early morning temperatures are tropical so it is going to be a real warm one on the mountain and it is entering t-shirt skiing territory.

It is snowing lightly this morning and the village is once again coated in a layer of white.

The snow has arrived as forecast and it has been snowing since early this morning.

The weekend turned out to be a stonker with a snow front delivering new powder snow which was much appreciated given that we are now well into April.

Should be a great day after more snow yesterday and the snow, though still a little wet, was more powdery then expected.

What a change around. We knew the rain would change to snow yesterday but it dumped a good part of the day to give us up to 25cm.

With temperatures fluctuating over the last few days between warm and freezing, snow conditions on the mountain have been varying between icy and soft spring.

As predicted a snow front arrived yesterday afternoon and delivered 8cm of snow at village level.
