Independent snow and weather reporting from the Furano region of Hokkaido

New snowfall at base 7cm
Snowfall at base this season 555cm

Posted on Wednesday 19th March 2014 This is an archived report. The latest Furano Now report can be found here.

As predicted a snow front arrived yesterday afternoon and delivered 8cm of snow at village level.

Today is sunny and the morning has started off with some cold wintery temperatures with -6c recorded at the top of the resort. Due to the new snow the skiing will be good with nice smooth groomers and fresh snow for those wanting to get in some late season fresh tracks on the off-piste.

Tomorrow looks like it will be more of the same weather wise.
