Independent snow and weather reporting from the Furano region of Hokkaido
New snowfall at base 2cm
Snowfall at base this season 25cm
Posted on Thursday 11th December 2014 This is an archived report. The latest Furano Now report can be found here.
There has been about 2cm of snow overnight. The resort is very windy today and temperatures are well below zero. The wind signifies the arrival of a system that is expected to provide some much need snow over the next few days. At the moment the snow has stopped but it looks like it could start again anytime.
Today's wind means the Prince Romance chair will not be operating.
The good news is that Furano Ropeway will be operating for uploading and downloading, to give access to Furano Downhill Romance 2 double chair on the upper mountain. The skiable course today will be the part of Sailer Course that runs next to Downhill Romance 2 double chair.
