Yesterday started off really disappointing, the sun even came out for a few moments time to time and some clear conditions.

There's 15cm of snow on the top of my car this morning. Not as much as I was hoping for really.

No new snow to report this morning.

After that continued snow for most of the day yesterday, this morning it's an absolute beauty. Clear blue skies all round and the sun is out as of 8am.

It has been a Snowtastic 24 hours here, a bit mad to be honest. We have been well and truly snowed on.

This is a bit more like it! The morning rain yesterday turned into sleet and then in the afternoon it was snowing.

Some cloud around but blue sky as well and the sun is out as I write this report.

The sun is out early on this morning and it's a beautiful clear sky morning here in Yuzawa.

Yesterday was a beautiful day throughout the region.

If all is going to plan, the first people should be getting on the Mitsumata Ropeway as I type this and the Yuzawa ski season will have officially kicked off.

Open kettei! Yes, the decision has been made and Kagura is going to open from tomorrow morning. Hurray!

A few sightings of snow as well on the higher mountains, and a bit spotted on the top area of Kagura as well.

So there we are. After what seems like an extremely long 'spring season', the last ski lifts of the season came to a standstill a few hours ago.
