Things have improved this morning. Colder and some fresh snow.

It's a cold start to the morning in Nozawa and still lots of clouds around but we're expecting a clear up quite quickly with the sun to be shining down on us before too long.

It hasn't been the best 24 hours in the season. Rain yesterday put a damper on things somewhat, but it is kind of back to... wet... snow this morning.

Some early morning valley cloud aside, looking up and we have some fine looking blue skies and the sun starting to work it's magic on the slopes.

Official numbers show Yamabiko reaching 4m of snow this morning.

You like fresh snow? We got it!

The snow started falling sometime early morning this morning in Nozawa and the resort is reporting 5cm of snow on the upper slopes and 10cm down at base.

10cm of snowfall since last night and just cloudy skies to start the day off here. A bit wet lower down but would expect the conditions to be better higer up.

So where's the sun then? Was expecting clearer skies this morning bit it's still grey and cloudy with light snow slowly falling earlier on this morning.

An impressive refresh this morning with 30-45cm of new snowfall being reported by the resort across the mountain.

It's a busy peak season Sunday of course and lots of people around here in Nozawa.

Just a bit of snow overnight here in Nozawa with the resort reporting 5-10cm.

We've got more snow this morning to report, between 20-40cm according to the resort and there's definitely a good new layer of snow to shovel outside here in the village too.

We're seeing a bit of sun this morning. Lots of cloud still, but some breaks in them and some sunshine.
