Independent snow and weather reporting from the Nozawa Onsen region of Nagano

New snowfall at base 15cm
Snowfall at base this season 637cm

Posted on Tuesday 13th January 2015 This is an archived report. The latest Nozawa Now report can be found here.

Hello from Nozawa. So where's the sun then? Was expecting clearer skies this morning bit it's still grey and cloudy with light snow slowly falling earlier on this morning. It does look like the clearer conditions have been just 'delayed' though as we have the snow easing off leaving us with a cloudy morning to be followed by a clear evening.

And sunny conditions tomorrow and the sun will be warming things up a bit. (High of around +4C forecast).

According to the resort, more fresh snow on the lower slopes than upper over the last 24 hours with 15-20cm on lower and 0cm on upper during the day. (Possibly a typo? Who am I to argue!) The main thing that matters is that there has been another decent amount of fresh snow over the last 24 hours.
