montoya 0
Spinning off the prior "Other activities" thread, just curious if anyone else here is into pool/billiards/snooker? Not that it has anything to do with snowboarding or skiing, of course.
amandanism 0
im utterly hopeless at pool. you'd think that for someone who plays pool on a regular basis and lives with a pool table would be able to get good. but with me, no. its all flukey hit and hope for me
montoya 0
You actually have a pool table in your place? those things must weigh a bit, eh? (3 slabs at 100 kilos each, plus the frame). Still, must be nice to have...
amandanism 0
well not really in "my" place per se. but i live in a boarding house, and they have one. those things must be a pain to move around, and they are really space consuming which isnt really a good thing for the shoebox houses of japan. RayInJapan 0
We like to kill time playing 9 ball on occasion, usually as a prelude to karaoke. We suck at it (billiards), but its still fun. Haven't played as much since we moved up here from Okinawa though...
Karnidge 2
I love it. I used to play a lot of snooker when I was in the UK, play it all I can. Any snooker in Tokyo? Never really looked...
montoya 0
Here are some places in Tokyo. Probably the best (price-wise/atmosphere) is the Humax 'Sometime Pool Hall' in Shinjuku's Kabukicho, next to the movie theater plaza: http://www.wondertable.com/app/tenpo/tenpo?code=Sometime The Roppongi Bagus place also has a table or two: http://www.bagus-99.com/billiard/shop/bagus/roppongi.html If you can read Japanese, this might be of some reference: http://www.snooker.gr.jp/ -peace
snowboard_freak 0
I enjoy a game of pool/billards/snooker when i can! Like amandanism we had a table at our boarding school too. The first one we had was a smallish hexagonal one, pretty fun to play on. Then we got a proper 3/4 size one. They are heavy things thats for sure!
S(in)ister 0
pool is cool
damian 0
when I am back at home my old man and I put on Pith Helmets and get pissed playing snooker. I dont care much for the game per se but we always have a blooody good time. The old fool always ends up playing air guitar on the pool stick to AC/DC.
