head in the Izu direction. These are probly the nicest as a ratio to closest and on the train line.

Sorry, I correct myself. The best beach Closest to Tokyo is Byron Bay.

I spent many a day at Kamakura. I think I took the Keihin Tohoku line. Coudld be wrong. It's a decent beach seen but don't even contemplate surfing.

Also, went to Omaezaki (shizuoka)..for a surf competition...flat...haven't been back. Anyone else..

What's your beach objective? Surf, dive, bodyboard, just recreational...?? Getting tan

Kintaro, I often go to Omaezaki for comps and just to stay.

Some good waves to be had without the crowds thats when there are waves.

still the beaches nothing really special here unless you go to the islands.

I like local beaches in Miura, Kamakura, Hayama area. Those beaches are just 1hour from Shinagawa by train. If you take bus from Kamakura, Zushi(Yokosuka line) or Misakiguchi(Keihin Kyuko line), you can find nice beach there.

I'll spend a summer evening on my favorite beach in Hayama soon.(Hopefully, every week in July!) You can hang out with us, if you like.
