i sometimes listen to NPR via iTunes when i'm cooking. or if the programs dull, i'll listen to a music radio station. i forgot how nice it was to hear good new music. sometimes i just get sick of my cds/ipod.

There are some great shows on Internet radio from the UK. The one I listen to most often is Gilles Peterson on Radio 1, but there is good stuff on Kiss FM London too. I think they have some of their shows on demand now too. Try Dave Rodigan's reggae show, or Patrick Forge.

For current affairs, BBC Radio 4's Today program goes out in the afternoon Japan time. There is great on-the-spot reporting from around the world on the shows on the independent Pacifica Radio station from the US.
