Typing

Hi I'm kinda new here.

 

I was wondering how people here type - slowly using a finger or two or properly trained so-fast-can't-see-the-fingers typing?

 

I'm fairly fast, but I use about 4 fingers I reckon.

I use 2 main fingers but am really fast with them.

I use my nose. My head is a blur skimming across the keyboard.

I try to use as many fingers as possible when typing but I often get tangled up and end up making horrible mistakes if Im not concentrating hard

learnt to type in highschool, can't remember if it was compulsory in our first year or not... anyways, so i can touch type pretty fast... but it's awful on a japanese keyboard!!! not that learning at school makes you a fast touch typer, only one other person could do it...

I have become much better in the last year, much faster. But mostly just 2 fingers.

I use my toes. My arms are far to short to reach the keyboard.

 

I have become quite nimble and am able to type nearly 500 words an hour.

I wouldn't mind increasing my typing skill/speed. I wonder how I should go about doing that. Without some kind of learning, I don't seem to get any better. Any top tips?

Well if you find a way of getting better at typing without learning I would like to adapt that to my getting better at Japanese without learning

You need to learn to touch-type properly. For that, a typing training program would help. Check out Tucows or Downloads for something - there may well be freeware.
