Britain's Northumbria Police are outfitting their police dogs with head-mounted video cameras and radio transmitters. Like the X10 cameras from pop-up ads of yore, the system allows the police to send in their best friends in lieu of risking human lives for those situations involving smoke, fire, drugs or anything even slightly dangerous. The camera transmits back audio and video, and the dogs "seem to forget the camera is there." People have been rigging up DIY versions of these for awhile, but this system promotes itself as adding stability, lightweight packaging and also night-vision. Link to post Share on other sites
