farquah 0
The Grey Whale that has been splashing around the Tokyo Bay shores since late April has kicked the bucket. Unfortunately seems that once again fishermans nets are the main culprit and it got tangled up on Wednesday. Its a massive shame, after living in Ogasawara and studying these awsome mamals I realised how much we should be doing more to protect them. There is still lots to be learned and with numbers rapidly decreasing we should be more aware. Unfortunately as with many other species on the planet its an uphill battle. Was working for the Marine Centre there, have spoke about it on the forums before. Was studying the guys in my avatar and Hump Back Whales predominantly, but load of other species also as Ogasawara is pretty much the Galapogos of Asia. As have said before if anyone gets the chance to get across there its an amazing place (apart from the 26 hour ferry journey!!)
