BagOfCrisps 24
Obviously we're a long way off spring, but with the huge amounts of snow and of course quite a lot more to come, are some of these places going to get flooding problems in spring or will it all just disappear quietly like a good boy/girl/thing? tsondaboy 0
It depends on the weather. If spring temperatures rise suddenly in a few days time, then you might see some major floods. If temperature rises progressively in a few weeks time then there should be no problem.
BagOfCrisps 24
Aren't some of these regions famous for having the temps change really suddenly? I think I remember reading some jokes about there being a Hot / Cold switch and it takes about a day for it to be turned at the turning of the seasons.
number9 0
Whitewater rafting should be quite something this coming spring!
tsondaboy 0
In that case along with that one, expect the flood ON/OFF switch to be turned…
big-will 7
It's rather worrying.
Fattwins 0
this rain should take away some of the snow I think. If the warm weather in the spring has down pours then we could be in for a rough spring.
BagOfCrisps 24
Glad to have not read anything about flooding on here as it has become warmer. Not a problem then?
xxx 2
None that I've heard of BagOfCrisps.
soubriquet 0
Not here in Yamagata. The rivers are busy, but nothing like as full as they are in the wet season.
gamera 0
BOC, that switch is what we call "Sankan Shion" which is like "3 cold days and 4 warm days ( in a week)" at this time of the year. That's how it gets warmer and warmer.
sanjo 2
Yesterday it was 20 degrees here where I am, really warm it was. But it's back to being cold again today! Pretty mad fluctuations going on.
excited 0
It seems so much more sudden than that gamera. I'm amazed at how quickly it can go from being really cold to almost hot almost overnight.
grungy-gonads 54
I heard the snow will be a permenant feature on the mountains this summer, no melt and no flood. And no carrots in autumn.
