Nothing to brag about compared to Japan but always good to have. Sad to see that most (if not all in this batch) of the people killed were foreigners. Beside equipment and training, a local knowledge of the place where you are skiing is important to have, otherwise you have to play it safe. Link to post Share on other sites

marnix 0 Posted January 11, 2006 Share Posted January 11, 2006 We had plenty of snow in Austria last weekend. according to the resort there was over 2 meters and some patches were still in great shape, although on the lower/south facing parts it was difficult with lots of slides. My buddy set off a a good slider on the bottom part of a run. He was sucked into it and tumbled about 50 meters down and luckily came out on top of the pile of snow. His skis were somewhere in this snowpile and we probed for 45 minutes to miraculously find them. Link to post Share on other sites
