I've got an invitation this week to go to either sugadaira resort in Nagano or Myoko kogen in Niigata.

I'll have to drive to both so transportantion isn't important. I'm wondering which is your preference?

First are you sure its sugadaira and not suginohara?

Second, it all depends on what you want.

If you want to have no fun, hate yourself for wasting a day riding and spend hours of that day moving from area to area in the forlorn hope that you might find something to do thats... okay... you should definitely go to sugadaira!

Point of order though: I also hate akakura onsen. :)

See! balanced!

Haha!

Where in Myoko? Suginohara, Akakan, Akakura Onsen, Ikenotaira or Seki Onsen?

If its Suginohara, I like this place. I haven't been to the others

I still haven't 'got' Myoko myself, though I need to give it more of an effort.

This year won't happen, maybe next.

Thanks for the responses! I really did mean Sugadaira in north eastern Nagano. Sounds like there is a slight bias against myoko haha, thanks for your advice

I definitely think you got the wrong end of the stick dude :)

Let me make it very clear.

Should you go to Myoko or Sugadaira?

Myoko.

Personally I much prefer Myoko.

I went heli ski once in Sugadaira which was fun, but there's just not enough challenge for me there generally.

A good place for beginners I'd say.
