BagOfCrisps 24
Pretty scandalous isn't it. But this last weekend was a strange one, like the Diana thing. People seemed to go mad for no reason. You could have a private grumble with friends in the pub, but publically it was just one way traffic. Very strange and somewhat unsettling actually. Don't like it.
pie-eater 207
Oh but come on guys, she does so much for the country and tirelessly "serves" us each and every day. That'll be a plate of chips, steak pie, mushy peas and gravy this evening, luv.
pie-eater 207
The Queen's income is expected to rise by more than 5% next year after the Crown Estate announced record profits. The Sovereign Grant, which covers the costs of the Queen's official duties, will reach £40m next April. The grant is calculated as a percentage of profits from the Crown Estate, which includes properties such as Windsor Park and much of the UK coastline. Meanwhile, Buckingham Palace accounts show about a third of the grant is spent maintaining the royal palaces. She does do a jolly good job though, so I reckon a rise of 5% to 40 million is more than justified.
