Thank goodness this long (Queenie Jubilee) weekend is over...

Pretty scandalous isn't it.

But this last weekend was a strange one, like the Diana thing. People seemed to go mad for no reason.

You could have a private grumble with friends in the pub, but publically it was just one way traffic.

Very strange and somewhat unsettling actually. Don't like it.

Oh but come on guys, she does so much for the country and tirelessly "serves" us each and every day.

That'll be a plate of chips, steak pie, mushy peas and gravy this evening, luv.

The Queen's income is expected to rise by more than 5% next year after the Crown Estate announced record profits.

The Sovereign Grant, which covers the costs of the Queen's official duties, will reach £40m next April.

The grant is calculated as a percentage of profits from the Crown Estate, which includes properties such as Windsor Park and much of the UK coastline.

Meanwhile, Buckingham Palace accounts show about a third of the grant is spent maintaining the royal palaces.

She does do a jolly good job though, so I reckon a rise of 5% to 40 million is more than justified.
